    Hi All.

Anyone have any good experiences with fitting a replacement after market soft top to a F430? Recommended brands? Issues or things to look out for?

I'm in Dubai so will have to import.

    Thanks

I've done the same search here but didn't find anything concrete.

You can find replacement tops in eBay for about $2,500.00. I understand labor is about the same amount, but the labor experts are mostly located in California.

My research indicates GAHH tops are the best. They come with straps and cables sewn in and guarantee fitment. Cabrio World, a site sponsor has the best price at $2003.00. You can find a top for $1800 or so on EBAY but I would recommend caution. Lot's of bicycle shops make these but they're not guaranteed and if they don't fit you're out of luck.

    Cheers, Andy

Hi Mark, Did you eventually import a replacement roof for the F430 Spider? I am also based in Dubai and researching options for a replacement roof. Any update or recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks, Terence

Hi Mike, how did the top from Cabrioworld turned out? I am planing to change mine too. Is it GAHH brand? and how much did they charge you for installation including the headliner installation?
    Thanks
    Alex

About a month ago there was a thread for this topic, and I had researched three (3) suppliers.

Search for 360 spider top replacement, and I will try to find the FC link

Can't find the link, but I believe Topsonline.com was the favorite.

Hi Aldo, I ended up getting a replacement top custom made by a specialist company here in Dubai. They did an excellent job. Terence

Hi Aldo, The work on my F430 was done by Billy Triandafilou. Billy is now in charge of the body shop team at Munich Cars in Al Quoz - 04 347 4666. I believe Billy subcontracted the fabrication on the roof, but I don't know the details. In 2018 the roof cost AED16,500 (+VAT). Billy has done great work for me on a number of cars. Terence

when you say the dealer charges 13K, do you mean just for the canvas (the material part)?

I think its the entire roof, fabric and frame, or some portion of it, its not just the fabric

The metal parts of the Spider roof are made from Unobtainium. The $13k is for the fabric replacement using OEM parts. It doesn't even cover the headliner, which is integral to the top and is an additional $750 part. I had this quoted to me last year ($16k). A bit hard to swallow.

A quick search on Ricambia shows a new OEM blue Spider top is nearly $12k. What's the F dealer going to charge? I imagine it's more.

The other negative is the OEM top may have been manufactured many years before so on day one, the elastics are already old.

Personally, I'd have no compunctions in changing the fabric myself. I'd use a top quality aftermarket too. I've already done the 14 elastics and the full top is just a few more steps. I'm actually quite impressed at how easy the top is to work on. I used to fear operating my top and only did it in the garage. Now, I'd open or close the top anywhere without fear that it's going to fail.

I'm going to change the straps on mine this weekend with the instructions you provided. Hopefully it will go smoothly and I won't have to bother you with questions;)
