Hi guys, I know there’s a load of threads on this topic. Would anyone be able to advise on a standard speaker upgrade system on the stock speakers please or post links to other threads. I’ve bought a Joying head unit and want to install better speakers which fit easily and will be louder with better quality. I don’t want to go down the amp addition route really, hence my post as most posts suggest a new amp. Door card speakers and tweeters should be fine. I don’t think my car has a sub. Thanks.
I used Focal for door and tweeter. Sub also but you said you didn't have that. IMG_1885.JPG IMG_1887.JPG
Thanks for this. I have seen the focal speakers being used, other threads were referencing using an amp too. Did you just plug and play with the focal speakers on a standard 50W head unit? Was the sound quality good/loud enough for general use? I have the coupe so less issues with buffeting etc. Would you mind sharing with me the model or sizes of the speakers I need to buy? I like the focal brand so would probs just buy them online and then my audio engineer can just install them along with the head unit.
I can look to see if I still have the box they came in. I only installed an extra amp for the subs. I am running the doors and tweeters on the head unit ( I have the factory flip out face unit) and it's plenty loud enough. 20230213_092042.jpg Image Unavailable, Please Login
Amaz Amazing, thanks that’s great. An idea for the tweeter size and I can go ahead and order them all.
You really don't want to try to install aftermarket tweeters into your original black plastic triangles, for two reasons. First, you cannot buy new triangles, either from Ferrari or any aftermarket Ferrari parts warehouses. So when you go to sell the car and the prospective buyer wants to see original triangles, you'll be stuck. Second, if you look at the angle that the tweeters (any tweeters) are mounted in the stock plastic triangles, you'll notice that they shoot the sound straight into the other guys' feet. Horrid design. I make 3D printed replicas of the stock triangles that are identical to the originals (both inside and out) except that these hold the tweeters at a precise angle so that they shoot the sound right straight at your head for perfect stereo imaging. Pull your stock triangles off, wrap them in a soft towel and save them for when you sell the car, then push my triangles into place. You'll immediately hear a noticeable difference in the sound quality. Go to www.scuderiaaudio.com for details, or just send me a PM if you'd like to chat.
I kitted out my F430 spider with new 6.5” door speakers, subs and an upgraded PX amp. All brackets inc. It sounds incredible. I live near Watford, fast delivery but you’ll have to pay import duty. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat

Another satisfied customer here. Contact Mike. SoftwareDrone. He goes above and beyond. Super nice guy too.
Hi guys, Ok, so the Focal speakers and joying are here. I’ve deceived I should bang an amp in whilst I’m at it. Any amp recommendations for the Focals please? Remember I’m not running a sub. Cheers!
A Mosconi Atomo 2 would be perfect. It's tiny, produces 100 Watts per channel into two channels and has a built in crossover at 80 hz to protect your speakers.
I received a set of these from Mike about a week ago. Fit the car perfectly. Well made and lots of extra material to enlarge the tweeter area to fit Morels in the Morel speaker mounts. Barry
If you change out the door speakers do you have to change out the tweeters as well or can you just replace the door speakers
I’m certainly not an expert but unless you are replacing the factory speakers with factory speakers, I don’t think you will like the outcome. Even then. Separate speaker systems from Focal , Morel, etc typically come with a crossover that is designed to work with their speaker system. This would define crossover points that work with the speakers for that system. Not the factory system or any other speaker system. I put an Audison 4 channel DSP amp with Morel Virtus Carbon speakers in my F430 and it is so much better than the factory setup. Except for Mike’s tweeter mounts, you do not see anything else. Barry
Several aftermarket companies offer speakers that are specifically designed to replace OEM units. To be on the safe side, I incorporate capacitors (high pass filters) for the tweeters in my Audison component speakers kit to guarantee that the tweeters will be protected against lower frequencies. The Audison midranges have the protection built in. If you're not going to use component speakers that are specifically designed to replace OEM speakers, you should definitely either install the passive crossover networks that are included with that system or provide your own active crossover scheme.
Mike, is there any part of the OEM sound system (especially the Bose options) that would prevent someone from just yanking them out and replacing everything with newer components (especially if you're already running an aftermarket head unit)? Most of the add-ons I see focus on reusing most of the factory system. Is it just a purist thing or is there some level of interconnectivity that is difficult to bypass?
Excellent question! You can absolutely yank out any or all of the stereo gear and start over. However, the folks with the factory hi-fi option had no choice to hack into the wires in their hi-fi harness to incorporate an aftermarket amplifier -- until I developed my super adapter. You plug one end into the hi-fi harness and plug any aftermarket amp into the other side, leaving your factory harness untouched. Everything else is just like any other car stereo. Now, having said that, I'm not intimately familiar with the internals of the Bose setup. I would like to be, but this is only the third inquiry I've had in 14 years regarding the Bose system. PM me when you're ready and we'll work together on your system and we'll both learn something.
Speaking as someone who had to deal with the aftermath of a wire hacked hifi system, what a great product this adapter. Oh and BTW, Mike talked me through my whole reconfig, thank you again Mike, couldn't have done it without you, seriously, I didn't know what I was doing.
Thanks. you have an open invite to look at mine if you ever want to look at replicating any part of it. I use to dabble in car audio in a former life, IASCA and all, so I'm pretty hands on when it comes to installs. I plan on just removing all of the stock units and doing a full replacement eventually but keeping all of the stock enclosures.
Hardly, I was easily outgunned but enjoyed being part of the scene for a short while. It was a fun learning experience and the bug stayed with me, although not to the point where I'm adding crazy subs and amps everywhere That was also 20 years ago so I'm probably out of the loop on so many things.
