What are you guys seeing for your 2-year service price? I can't tell if my dealer is being fair or not. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Several mentions of main dealer USD 2200 here three years ago https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/annual-service-cost-2007-f430.439410/
I know it's a revelant but an indie would charge about half for the same service Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
I’ve done my CS several times. To do all the fluids takes roughly 8 hrs. The labor charge will depend on the rate per hour. The supplies cost about $250.
Where are you getting all the parts listed for $250 ? Even from Europarts in the U.K. with ship and duty it would be more than that. I know we can get Mobil 1 at Wallmart, and generic coolant, etc. but Ferrari dealer parts are $$$, and the air filters and pollen filters are pricey..
That's outrageous. Plain and simple. Oil is double, filter is nearly double. I bought 3 qts of 75w90 for $20. A K&N set from amazon was $70 However, I am questioning coolant tho. Mine took almost 4 gallons and I didnt 100% completely flush. The coolant I chose was $14.99 a gallon...I'm guessing they just drained the radiators and that was it.
I agree with dechosen1fosho. if the coolant was a 50/50 mix, then it's a true 1 gallon. Being there was no charge for distilled/demin water, then they probably just drained radiators and put in 1 gal of 50/50. The cooling system holds 17.5 liters which is 4.623 gallons. Do the math.
I paid similar for major yearly service at my stealer. Done every 3 years. Only to keep up service history in case of sale. I will most likely go to independent starting soon.
Maybe it is 350 in parts. Whatever. The only reason these people are able to extort Ferrari owners is because we as a group are stupid enough to pay the tab. Learn to work on your own cars. It’s not that hard to learn and the principle are no different than any other car in existence.
I’m in the same boat. Just did the oil, valve cover gasket, spark plugs, belt and air filter. Take out the valve cover gaskets and the parts and labor was about $1400. Most ferrari dealers charge $2400 in SoCal for all the fluids
Okay for reference, I just dropped off my 430 Scud for the "two year service" and was quoted $2200. This includes the following: Oil and filter change, transaxle fluid change, brake fluid flush, coolant change, power steering fluid change, new cabin filter, and a series of inspections and checks per workshop manual.
Guys Dealer prices are just blown out of proportion.. At a good Indy place that would have cost 1200 - 1300 I hate when I see fellowchatters getting charged too much A diy project would be less than 500 But it seems from what I gather here 2k is the norm for dealers Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
8 hours if you remove the screen and filter / screens in both engine and trans... I have seen that alot of dealers and Indies are not removing the screen in engine and filter / screen in trans nor blowing out lines .. they are just removing a few plugs, draining, and refilling .. same goes for coolant There is a major time difference in doing a drain and refill vs what I mentioned above Double check what you are getting for the money Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
Picked up my 430 Scuderia from Ferrari of Seattle today. Total came to $2004.08 with tax, but includes Ferrari Club of America 10% discount. Here is the services performed for their dealer recommended "2 year annual service": oil and filter change, coolant service, gearbox service, brake fluid service, power steering fluid service, AC system service including replacement of receiver dryer and recharge, replace engine air filters. Looks like they billed about 8 hours in labor (majority of the bill). FoS always does a nice job washing the car, and they will give me a ride home and pick me up when asked. They have even delivered the car to my home on occasion. I'm been using FoS for service for about 15 years and always find them to be responsive and professional.
Several invoices that I have seen from independent shops are nothing more than a oil change and brake flush ... for more than it would cost at the Dealership for the same all the while claiming its a 2 year service -or- all that's really needed. Apples to Orange IMO Ask them to itemize what is actually performed for that " half the price " 2 year service. S
Depending on what is actually performed for the price, I would dare say short of you doing it yourself, apples to apples it would be in line with any independent shop. Parts prices will be about the same ( Dealership may deduct an additional 10% for FCA members ) and neither is going to charge less time than the work actually takes. Local labor rates here are dollar for dollar the same ( after FCA / FC Discounts are applied ) Dealership to Independent Ferrari service centers. ( Jiffy Lube does not count ) Even if the Dealership IS more per hour , by what $50.00 an hour... that's still only $400 more , not half the price. So , how again could an independent shop be half the price for the same work? Consider the value of what you are getting when using a Dealership for your annual service vs Independent shops. 1. Better resale value 2. Factory backed parts and labor warranty if needed 3. Invite to client events 4. Dealership sponsorship for factory tour 5. Etc.. The above is written as and alt point of view , not meant to be argumentative or disrespectful. S
You have it right, just stick with them - this is going to seem really dumb since I bought a new Scud 10 yrs ago and would never sell it but I always thought the service was supposed to be yearly - I only do about 1200 miles a year
All that work ..now that is reasonable Alot more than on original post Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
Forgot to mention they usually replace the cabin filter for around $90 or so for the part. I had them skip it, as I have an upgraded German made replacement I picked up online that has the added benefit of activated charcoal. I will install that myself this evening.
The annual service is oil and filter, and a brake fluid change. With so little miles, I doubt it would be a big deal to skip the annual and just do the 2 year service. You are supposed to alternate between the two services,
