Hi all, My drivers door on my '05 F430 are not staying open, and I suspect it to be the door stop. Does anybody of you know how this can be removed/replaced? Is this a part which can be fixed, or should I just order a new door stop right away? Thank you in advance
From the Workshop Manual... In the event that the door hinges show excessive clearance, it is possible to replace the bushings fitted on the bodywork fixed hinges. • To replace the door tie-rod (39) the two outer fastening nuts (40) must be unscrewed. • When re-assembling, lubricate the pivots and the bushings (38) with hydro-repellent grease and tighten the tierod fastening nuts (39) to the prescribed torque. Thank you very much for the quick and informative reply. Will try this when I pick up my car from winter storage next week!
Just a little update for the record... There was no need to replace or dismantle the tie-rod, it was fixed by "working it" a little bit inside the door after removing the door panel.
