    So it seems this is my problem with my F430 Spider, anyone had this ?

    Yes, one of the 2 potentiometers had a dead spot. Dashboard warning light and it would only give 1st, 2nd and reverse.

    Ok so my Ferrari dealer replaced the Potentiometer with the OEM part, everything was good for circa 75km, now the car above 4th gear simply jumps into neutral, no warning lights, which is a tad disturbing, obviously back at dealer but any thoughts please ?

    that's probably your clutch is on its last legs, just a possiblity.

    Possibly @ 22k miles but I will be pretty pissed if they didn't realise both needed doing simultaneously, as thats lots of extra Labor

    thanks for the tip( my car after running for 10 minutes or getting up to temp. would fall to second gear so rev. first and second gear worked but would go no higher)
    i replaced the potentiometer everything is good now..very easy to change,just remmember to have it in nuetral before you start and follw the diagram in post.
