Will the factory supplied C-Tek charger maintain the AGM battery from Interstate (MTP-H6A)?
I am replacing the FIAMM factory battery with one of these. As it is an AGM battery, I read that the float charge required to "tend" it is different.

    Anyone deal with this?

    Thanks

I would say yes. That is the same battery in my car. But I would confirm with someone else to make sure.

I'm not sure about that C-tek but Deltran makes a specific tender for Gel Cell Batteries.

Just put 2 in today... They are a standard wet battery so charging is not an issue....

The MTP-H6A is a Gel Cell the H6 is a Wet Acid Battery.

I can't find any Data on the Deltran that makes it specific to a gel cell or standard wet acid, but according to Deltran they have a specific tender for the wet and one for the Gel.

The standard may work but I would not risk a $200.00 bat.

    Just my opinion.

Every reference I read says the MTP-48H6A is a wet cell battery using silver calcium technonlgy, just like the MTP-48H6. It is just a bit more powerful than the H6. This includes Interstate's own specifications on their web site. Does anybody have a reference for the MTP-48H6A, besides FChat, that shows it is an AGM battery? The warranty on the battery is identical to the MTP-91 and MTP-48H6 at 30 months free replacement and 85 months total.

Braille and Odyssey do make AGM batteries that fit Ferraris.

    Taz,

I was told by a tech at Interstate that the MTP-H6A is a Gel cell. He may be wrong and it could actually be an AGM. If so I stand corrected.

Im going to try and call interstate tomorrow and ask about a few bat models. If I get any decent info I'll let you know for your Battery Reference sheet.

    Chris

Chris- AGM batteries are probably the gel cells you are talking about. They do not need to be vented, are spill-proof, and can be mounted in different orientations (even upside down) without problems.

Let us know if you get any additional info on the H6A.

MPT-91 is the way to go. Venting was the only mod....the screws fit just fine.

Here are the specs on the battery. This battery or the mtp48h6/ fits perfectly and the breather vent location works perfectly with the stock fitting in the car with no mods.

I have that battery in my 430 Spider and the Ferrari supplied charger works fine. Not sure if its a C-teck.. Its the red one supplied in the leather case.

Scott- That is the ad I found, too, which identifies the MTP-48H6A as a conventional wet cell battery using silver calcium technology.
