I have noticed that I have a small leak which is gearbox oil.
On inspection it appears to be coming from the F1 actuator.
Without stripping the car it is leaking from the cover plate seal where the pots are mounted , or around potentionmeters at the opposite end to the pipe work.
Seems to drip on longer runs .
Has anyone else had the same issue.
Can you just remove actuator and reseal cover plate and pots to solve problem.
I know if I ask dealership they will give me stock answer, buy new f1 unit at mega cost.
    Car runs perfectly.
    Advice would help.
Car is under warranty but they say fluid leaks not covered
    done 10000 miles FSH

You might well find existing information in the 430 section

I wonder if you might be describing the not uncommon split hydraulic block issue for which there is an upgraded Hill Engineering part

Replied to your other post on another forum......The failed seal is where the selector shaft passes into the sensor housing at the LHS of the picture. It needs stripping to change it.

If oil is leaking from the acutator/rear cover on actuator or potentiometers, then the seals inside the actuator are leaking and it needs to be rebuilt or replaced. There is no seal/gasket on the rear black plastic cover of the actuator, as it only keeps dirt out and not oil in, as the seals on the internals of the actuator are supposed to keep oil from getting to this area. It should not leak oil if this cover is removed. Same with the potentiometers, they should do not seal the actuator and no oil should leak from the area where they mount if they are removed.
The only area that can leak gear oil from this area is the joint where the actuator mounts to the transmission and is sealed with sealant.
I can't believe that oil leaks are not covered under warranty. As Ferrari does not reseal actuators, this repair would require replacement of the actuator if it is leaking.

From the Ferrari "Power Warranty" coverage statement: Engine: engine crankcase and all internal components, cylinder head(s) and valvetrain, oil radiator(s), head gasket(s), oil sump and oil pump, variable valve timing adjusters, solenoid valves. (Oil seals and oil leaks are excluded).

yes the statement does not cover oil seals , a complete get out.
If this happened on your £200k 458/488 it would be the same according to the dealer.
Ferrari warranty is not worth the paper it is written on.
They won't cover track rod ends and ball joints unless it was so bad you couldn't drive car
    Crazy!

If your actuator is leaking, send it down to GTE engineering. They will rebuild it for you. However, I suggest you also send the power unit with it. They well go thought both components and get them back into top shape. It's not cheap, but it is money well spent. You will need a shop to bleed the system after words.
