Hi All, Last few weeks I have been posting regarding F1 Pump and wiring and etc. However with no training on F1 Gearbox, we have yet to overcome the problem of bleeding out the air from the system, so we have E DIFF ERROR in RED and WHEN TRYING TO SHIFT NO SHIFT VEHICLE REMAINS IN N F1 PUMP IS OK AND CYCLES NORMALLY THE HYDRAULIC FLUID OVER FLOWS WHEN CAR SHUTS DOWN , GUESSING AIR IN THE SYSTEM Anyone knows a way to bleed the F1 Hydraulic system without a computer ? no error codes of gear box or engine is present. apart from the E DIFF in red and MODE SELECTOR in Amber . thanks in advance.... There are threads on bleeding the F1 hydraulic system. Please try the search function. Where does the hydraulic fluid "overflow" from when the car is shut down?
The F1 hydraulic system has an auto purge system if too much hydraulic fluid is added. To bleed the system, you must connect the hydraulic pump motor directly to a power source to make the motor running. Please read the entire procedure here : http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=139344602&postcount=23
850% duty? So the duty for the car was about $1.2million? that's insane. it'd be cheaper to fly a mechanic in from Italy (or wherever) and put him up for a few days to put the car back together.
car built is done, we just need to figure out the F1 Transmission part which is not getting the pressure to put the car in to gear
Should've got a manual - those feckin' F1s are awful trouble! No, seriously, well done on your project. Necessity is the mother of Invention! p.s. In exchange for the assistance you're getting here why don't you post a close up photo of the Vin # Tag
No way! You guys are freaking unbelievable. Well done! Carbon - when u get the VIN, what notation do you put on this one?
Hand assembled twice? I've heard of people swapping odometers with high miles to 'lower the price' of the car for tax purposes. Erik
Sounds like you've been to SF. Have never been to Bangladesh, but hope to get there someday. I'm sure everyone would love to see before, during, and after pics. Good luck on getting it all 100%. Sounds like you're almost there.
I'll note that a very clever task was undertaken so that a few guys could enjoy a great car. Please, someone - anyone - include in the private message of the VIN so that I may update my records. I would love to keep tabs on this car.
SF State : 5 years and go back every year at least twice a year since 2001...best city in the world by far....
All checked , clutch is engaging , all seems working but its not shifting to any gear ! Pump ok, shift solonoids ok, shift sensor ok, Really lost here....
I'm afraid that at this stage, without a SD3, you will stay stuck in this issue. I'm even very surprised you've been able to re-assemble so many parts without a SD3. Many logical adjustments (and not only the F1) can only be done using a SD3. I can't imagine reassembling physically the entire F1 actuator system without working on the logics.
is there any regional mechanic you can bring in? sounds like you are going to have to bring some one with lots of experience. I mean after all you essentially rebuilt a car.
Was the F1 Hydraulic Actuator aka [F1 GEARBOX SYSTEM COMPONENTS KIT] (Green) shipped attached to the transmission (orange)? If they were disconnected the F1 Hydraulic Actuator might need to be re-aligned. A FChat sponsor Ricambi sells a tool to help with the alignment [Actuator Alignment Block (#AV 3271) (95973271)]. http://www.ricambiamerica.com/product_info.php?cPath=600_100035&products_id=258540 Since you seem a little "search" challenged, here is a link to a FChat thread on the tool and the section from the workshop manual on its use: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=258072&highlight=95973271 Another: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=263709&highlight=95973271 Did you also remove the transmission from the engine or ship as one unit? Was the clutch removed from the vehicle? Was the flywheel removed from the vehicle? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Gear box engine shipped separately Actuator installed later ----- so guessing needs alighment ! Clutch removed and installed new clutch before shipment Thanks again
Next time I would recommend you ship the engine+transmission+entire hydraulic assembly including pump assembly all still connected, just drained of fluid. Then you could have just plugged her in, purged the air, and would have been more likely to work first try. You will need a SD2/SD3 to set the clutch kiss point, so may as well find or fly in a trained Ferrari mechanic with this tool to fix this issue. Look at the bright side, you bought a coupe so you dont need to worry about the very complex convertible top electro hydraulic system.
I am surprised, that you can actually rebuild the car just like that, because many countries now need an official sale document from the previous owner of the vehicle together with proof of registration to their name from the local authority to verify that the car was not stolen. Reason is that many gangs were stealing cars, disassembling them and then rebuilding them abroad. I don't mean to offend you, but doesn't the local authority ask how it comes and a car has suddenly appeared to be registered?
