I spoke with the Champion Motorsports guy today about the F40 wheels. They have no wheels in stock at the moment but they have the drawings for the wheels. The wheels are made in Japan by a company partially owned by Champion. For those that don't know, Champion Motorsports won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. I believe that they are the largest Porsche dealer in the USA. The wheels are rotary forged Magnesium making them stronger and lighter than the cast OZ, Speedline, and Enkie wheels. These wheels are used in F1, Endurance sportscar racing, and the Japanese Touring Car Championship. SAC originally had a contract with a Japanese company to distribute and sell their products in the USA. This contract, and a 12% stake in the company, have been taken up by Champion. They are the sole US source. These are the best wheels money can buy. In the future, the enkie, OZ, and speedlines will have a collector value due to their heritage and relationship with Ferrari. These are simply better wheels. The minimum order is 10 sets. I do not have pricing yet but I will shortly. The plan is to buy the wheels unfinished and let each person finish them. I have a guy that can paint them if you desire in any shade you request. This guy has painted many cars for Pebble Beach and has finished as high as second twice. He is in Redwood City, Calif. and his prices are reasonable. I do not recommend power coating based upon my past experiences. The wheels will eventually have to be touched up and it's easier if they are sprayed. As soon as I get a quote I will pass along the pricing. The use of these wheels will require that you fabricate new front brake ducts and remove the safety pin bushing from your spindles. I have a tool and bushings if you wish to go back to stock. I may be able to provide the brake ducts in CF. These wheels require a special tire mounting machine. They cannot be rim clamped or cleated(most tire machines have spikes on the rim holder that bite into the metal). I have a Hunter Engineering 3550 tire machine that I can mount the tires with as well as a Hunter 9700 Road Force Balancer to hide all of the wheel weights behind the spokes. You must use coated wheel weights or you will damage the wheels from corrosion. Uncoated lead weights will ruin the paint. If you would like, I'll have my guy mount and balance the tires after they are painted. It is very easy to damage the finish on the wheels when mounting the tire. I bought the tire machine and balancer because I like to do the work myself, and I got tired of people breaking scratching and breaking my wheels. If you are interested in a set of wheels, please sign-up on this thread. All of the costs associated with these wheels will be done on a pass through basis. My guy will charge a competitive rate for the mount and balance, I have the best equipment available.

Geez Tom, first the wing and now the wheels. How much for the wheels? You should have spoken sooner and saved me the trouble. Can you get an LM nose clip and the rocker panels?

Gee Tom, your wheels are only 8.5" for the front. I expect to be able to to get a complete set of wheels for under $6K each. Are you sure that your wheels are the correct offset for a street car? Lots of people have bought LM wheels that don't fit a street F40. I know this first hand. They don't call me mrknowitall for nothing!
