F40 US Seat Reclining Mechanisms. ??

    Anybody out there know if Ferrari used another car companies seat reclining mechanisms?
    Trying to assist a friend who is restoring a seat with bad pivoting/reclining mechanisms.
    We both know Ferrari must have used already existing mechanisms... possibly from another
    manufacturer. They are unobtainable from the Ferrari dealer.
    A big "pre"-thanks to anybody who can help steer in the right direction.

    I had the same problem with my driver’s seat several years ago. I could never find a replacement.

    If I remember correctly, the problem occurs as the gears get out of alignment as the mechanism seems to open up.

    I remember removing the mechanism and putting it between two blocks of wood in a vice and very very carefully applying pressure to bring the gears into alignment. Be very very careful.

    My mechanism has been good since then; 5
    years plus.
