I thought LM's came with 17's? I guess some also had 18's fitted? The one I saw years back had 17" OZ Racing wheels.

My 2 sets of OZ LM wheels which came from #79891 are 18in.

I have 2 OZ 18in LM style front wheels for standard F40 which I don't need if anyone is interested. I assume most know that the LM front wheels are too wide for the standard body work.

I have also heard LM wheels are available from Michelotto at around 10,000 Euros per set of 4...

Humm, I guess you had a choice of what to use? The IMSA cars had 17's too as far as I know.

I am not sure if you want to change for weight or looks but the OZ wheels look soooo much better than stock.

Absolutely! The stock wheels spoil the F40 for me now...

I personnaly prefer the Enkei or BBS in 18", I was having full sets of them with rain, mixte and dry tyres for my 88779, and really easy to find 18" pirelli or michelin tyres for it. BBS is still proposing such wheels in Europ.

The Enkei's look great on 90568. I am considering the possibility of having the color of them darkened. I am arranging for the shipping of the spare wheels & race slicks this week. I'll post pics when they arrive

Mike, did you verify the offset is the same for your F40 and F40LM. Why dont you use your 18's on your F40 until you can have some made. BBS also makes forged mag one piece as well and can reproduce any style that you wish. Same goes for NEEZ. If you are in a hurry, I can loan you my spare set. They are F 10.5X18 and R 18X14 with the ofset to fit a street car. Some LM/GTE models have 1" longer rear control arms to reduce oversteer. There are a few guys on this site that have been burned by buying real "LM" wheels and they are tucked into the rear fenders. I'm sure those wheels are still around but in 17". Real LM/GTE cars have 17's due to ride height and clearance issues. An 18 on slicks wont clear your front fenders without raising the ride height. Really affects the handling badly.

I would hope that you will give Mike the first shot at the wheels since he did start the search and the wheels are for a real LM. If you are going to hijack, give the first guy his chance.

These are the right size for (updated) LM and GTE

    Front 11.25 x 18”
    Rear 13 x 18”
    Forged Magnesium Alloys

Do you happen to know what the original 17" sizes were?

I heard that the rear tires could vary depending on the track from 305's to 355's?

Any idea if this is the case, I could never find the original width of the 17" rear tires....

    Thanks.

the wheels that came with the car are 15'' wide in the rear and 12'' wide in the front, nobody seems to make the correct front tire anymore

15" wide on the back?? I thought that 14's were big. Is there anyway that you can get drawings of the wheels. TOMGT what is the cost of your wheels, you seem to have the line on all the good F40 stuff. Is there anyway you can get the early flat spoked speedlines with the wheel fans in the rear?

Wow, 15" wide. What about Hoosier? They make a lot of odd ball sizes.
