At that "collectors" price you can be pretty sure that the next time we see it, the mileage will still be the same. Thankfully, there are plenty out there, so some are actually being enjoyed on the road.
79763 which has just been sold by Bonhams at Quail Lodge has done 59 miles since being sold at the same auction 3 years ago!
? so, you dont want the money or the car to drive? kind of like the reverse of having your cake and eating it too? like, not having your cake, and not having eaten it either? doesnt sound like much fun.....
Driving a 100 point ferrari around jn metro area nyc isn’t necessarily an enjoyable experience fwiw. Much more enjoyable to drive around an ff or 430 you don’t give a crap about. Just talking from experience. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
ah now i understand your comment....you are saying that the seller in that auction who did NOT manage to move the car has neither driven it or cashed in. i understood that you were answering my question about your own desire, hence my response. sorry for the misunderstanding.
by what i see F40s are hanging in there surprisingly strong - even higher mile ones arent easy to buy. thought i cld find a high mile euro car under 1M and it hasnt happened.
dont think it will. that recent result in abu dhabi, albeit possibly questionable circumstances, shows that even 1.3 mil is not buying a 'higher' mileage euro version at the moment. however, if you put your request out here on fchat, you might get a response.
what i find interesting is the f40 is up pretty much the same amount from the bottom in 09, approx 4x. The 40 is up 4x with 1200 units and the f50 is up 4x with 1/4 50s produced. ive said this before, imagine if they made 350 f40s.
Perhaps, that said great examples of certain Ferrari Supercars are bringing strong money in the emerging Selective Market, we've sold a GTO, F40 and F50 so far this January via Private Treaty and all the numbers underscore this. As iconic as F40s are, their relatively prolific production numbers (compared to 288 GTO and F50 for example) will always impact their values.
i think this maybe the car he is trying to buy: http://www.keys-motorsport-silverstone.co.uk/sales/ https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/ferrari/f40/1989-ferrari-f40-non-cat-non-adjust/9992318
yeh that has to be it...wonder how they see it as a project car...unless the project is to restore it all back to stock? no mention of mileage it seems
