Hi, This is my first post here so sorry if this subject gives you a deja vu... I was wondering in which colors you could order the F40 back then?
Was the Sultan of Bruneis a custom color after he bought it from Ferrari or did he get it painted that way from the factory?
All of the 190 Ferraris of the Sultan of Brunei (actually it was Prince Jeffrey, the brother of the Sultan) were made, constructed, repainted, converted to RHD, whatever, at PININFARINA in Torino, not at the Ferrari factory in Maranello. We have been through this already several times. Make a search on fchat. Marcel Massini
sorry to temporarily hijack this thread, but Marcel do you have any hard information that says whether or not the Sultan (or Prince) has any Enzos? If so, how many, and which one(s)? thank you much
It's true....i know that Rod Stewart had one yellow F40 (i read this here on Ferrarichat.com) ...but it was probably repainted. Like this one (very cool anyway!!!) Diego Armando Maradona had one Black painted (or most probably repainted) F40...the source is the well know (at least here in Itly ) italian car magazine Autocapital. Argh. Where could i find some pictures of this?
Bah, for me is horrible. Yellow is cool, black is monstruous (a real wild animal )....red is my love. But the blue doesn't fit the car at all. It's like a yellow Rolls Royce Silver Spirit,IHMO
The sultan's brother had atleast 5 "special" F40's 1 red 1 black 1 white 1 light silver 1 dark grey with full leather interior and converted to RHD
in my humble opinion, F-40 should be red...any other color is not quite the same...I just wish Ferrari painted their cars a bit better
It did, I'm trying to find the pictures but I can't. Currently the car is up for sale and it was re-painted red, the leather is gone and so is the sound sistem EDIT : Found them, I'll post the link so you don't loose resolution http://www.*************/gallery/72036/195/4785.jpg http://www.*************/gallery/72036/195/4785.jpg http://www.*************/pitlane/pics/1909216d.jpg Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Fantastic job on the find RockaForte! Much appreciated. It's still look great but it is not as gorgeous as I thought it was, to be honest. Some of the detailings really put me off. I was thinking more in line of: a darker grey, standard black recessed body lining, and black leather interior. In short, a subtle grand tourer look of the F40. If such is possible, haha..
Yes my description was a tad misleading, perhaps you were thinking more in the lines of a gunmetal colour, still the car is amazing, and it is in my humble opinion a shame that it was converted to red with standart interior.
Well, sorry for quote myself post...but it seems like that the MAradona's F40 was not repainted in black, but Ferrari painted it in black. you can see here....one of the last posts says: Did you know that the very first BLACK F40 was owned by Diego Maradona? Back then, President of AC Milan, Silvio Berlusconi, was desperately trying to get Maradona, and supposedly he was ready to get Maradona whatever he wanted. In order to keep Maradona in Naples, President of Napoli, Ferlaino, has bought the very first F40 for Maradona ever to be produced... Moreover,i know the guy who wrote that pst...he is Italian,so i think he's a reliable source!
