    Hi Everyone,
I would like to know if anyone has specific color information for the F1 F2002?
I will be starting a build of a Revell 1/12 model soon and the pre-painted body color seems too orange. I was having a discussion with a friend of mine and he said that in the early 2000's, Ferrari was very close to Marlboro and had adapted the color of their cars to something in between the Ferrari red and the Marlboro orangey-red.
    Any truth to this?
Also, does anyone know where I can find good reference photos of the F2002, especially the engine area?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Luc

    Hi,

As for the paint, Hiroboy.com is your best source.

Finding photos of engine on the newer F1 Ferraris is very hard.
Believe me, I have built many open version F1, see “wolfmans, unique Formula One “Schumacher” collection.

I attached 1 photos of engine bay, hope that will get you started!

I forgot about Hiroboy. There are several Zero Paint colours:
    -1970 through 1980,
    -pre-2004,
    -2004 to early 2007,
    -2007-2008,
    -2009,
    -2010.
Unfortunately, I can't get Zero Paints in Canada right now. Not from Hiroboy anyway.
    Thanks again!

First, yes, the red for the F1 cars became more orange in the late 90's. (I can't remember, were the 640 series from the 90's the old red or the new red?)

Second, Tamiya's Bright Red is a pretty good representation of this more orange red. Just prime the body with their Bright White Primer first because their paints are kind of translucent.

Lastly, regarding reference material, a Google image search would net a lot of detailed images. I think there might be some books out there about the 2002 car. A search through Amazon would result in some finds.

    Happy building.
