    Hey guys,

I just sold my FF (ugh..) and thinking of my entrance back into Ferrari.

I currently have a 2014 Aventador Roadster.. I am thinking of trading it in for a new F12. Thoughts?

To be honest, i hate how the Aventador drives and the stigma of owning a Lambo is getting to me. that being said, it almost seems like a bit of a downgrade to get an f12.

    either i:

    A) keep the aventador for another summer and order a 488 GTB
    B) Buy a new F12 and trade it in for a 488 GTB when it comes out

    Thanks!

Downgrade in what way? Only downgrade would be in how much attention random ppl pay you and how many pics are snapped of your car. In every other way it's an upgrade.

Have you test drove an F12?

I've driven a few and an Aventador. I think you'd love the F12. Think of it like a more powerful, more exciting, rwd FF. Not a perfect analogy but you owned an FF so it's a decent frame of reference.

F12 feels much smaller than the FF and smaller than the Aventador for sure. Gearbox is fantastic. Engine sound is absolutely amazing when you get on it. It fealt quicker than the Aventador to me. Steering is really quick but if you've driven Ferraris lately that's their thing.

I don't think it can replace your FF up North because of the snow but as far as mega GT's nothing can touch the F12 really.

Upgrade/ downgrade in this case are subjective. I go by your comment that you just are not loving driving nor really owning the Aventador. So if you think an F12 is a downgrade- what would be an upgrade? This is the question to ask.

I see these cars not really as competitors but as just different cars for different moods.

**MY** preference would be for the F12.

How about something more raw like a 599 GTO- it will be more expensive but my guess is you will hold your value better and its a very special car compared to the special car that the F12 is.

People here would take as an offense with that statement of 'downgrade' - Good Luck!

You are in the wrong forum (or perhaps brand) my friend! Keep the Aventador would be my advice. Save the F12 allocation for someone who wants an F12.

If your ultimate goal is mid engined then why would you swap for an F12? You sold a front v12 and it seems like you just want the F12 for a 'filler' car. As for the stigma... who cares? I guess some people don't like attention but you make more people's day than you think. Much MUCH more than you ruin peoples day. If you view the F12 as a downgrade but want a mid V8 in the end then why not try a 458 Speciale? It's still special(e), most certainly not a downgrade, and can be understated with the right spec so as to not attract too much attention.

    I wouldnt trade the F12 to an 488. That would be a downgrade. A N/A V12 for a Turbo V8.
If you are done with the Aventador, then an F12 is a good replacement. It's less show off and more mature. If you buy it in a dark color, it will almost go unnoticed.

The 488 is not a better car than the F12. Different, not better.

Nor is the Aventador. And the interior styling of the Aventador? Super cheap looking crappy parts, and not attractive at all IMO.

You need to go drive a car. Find a good one. Get a good price. Fly to it. Negotiate even more in person.

Friend has the roadster and I have an F12.

Lambo has more wow factor by a long shot, stiffer ride, tacky interior.

F12 is more versatile than an aventador roadster but also "lacks" the theatre value in comparison. But I think the f12 is the final destination compared to a 488 gtb.

I tested drive 488 GTB and considered it obviously better than 458. However, 488's sound of turbocharge is not as solid as NA. Compared with my F12, I personally preferred F12 though they are in different league. Just my two cents.

thats just the start of the problem, the whole thing is junk(except the paint) it's very sad that Lambo became junk plastic cars. Sure they drive ok, and are fast but i like quality and speed.

    +1

Interior of Aventador did seem rather cheap to me when I drove it. I haven't been in a Huracan or an Aventador SV. Not sure if they've made any improvements. I also wasn't a big fan of the overall feel of the Aventador in other anything other than a straight line. It just felt, well big and non-communicative. Got tons of looks when we parked though.

I love the Aventador but you just can't go wrong with the F12.

Get the F12, but don't swap it for a 488. That's a mistake...Swap it for the F12 replacement (if it stays NA V12)!

the SV is bit better, still bad plastic-just not as obvious.

however for 550-600K it's not good value.

I bought a 14 1000mile f12 for 332K, while it is a much more understated car its still a lot of fun to drive and isnt as "Plasticy"

I still have 3 Diablo's in the stable so if i need flash i got that covered as well.

its very sad whats happened at Lamborghini

Lambo looks on the outside like a Batman movie. Maybe cool if you want that. The interior and driving experience ... um ...

F12's like a wolf in sheep's clothing, as for the 488 it's a step down from both..

My friend in Munich who has a f12 & had a 599 and Ferrari for past 25? Years, was loaned a 488 for 3-4 days. He is a huge guy, not fat-big 6'6" 275, looks like a athlete. He said the 488 was very small for him inside. It felt very fast, but wasn't a f12. Which seems rite to me.

Possibly for a track car(not my thing) might be great.

I'm much happier with the f12 than any other Ferrari I ever owned, I think I said that here too many times, I just can't help it-it just is.

Driving a lambo is like banging a porn star, it's great fun for a while, a f12 is the girl you settle in with. Both are great, but For me at the end of the day, I'll take the f12. Having said that, would be nice if the quality of lambo was like before I'd have kept my aventador as well.

I suck at the track, however on runs I drive pretty good, lambo's take time to get used too before they are much fun. I can't knock how the aventador drives, the hurican drives much easier.

I can't fade the cheap everything

I took my calipers out one day they are accurate to 1/10,000 th of a inch iirc, maybe 1/1000, but I think 10,000. Point is they are accurate.

So a couple years ago when I got my aventador first time I drove it, I noticed the seat belts felt thin, width was normal. So I measured them, then my Jetta, S600, and Drophead. The Aventador had the thinnest nylon there was between all the cars. Nylon costs how much a foot? How much more would it cost them to use what was in the Jetta? Apparently too much, I guess my $566,000 wasn't enough $ to equip the car with VW Jetta quality nylon. Ok lambo gets 400k minus the sales tax and dealer margin.

That's just the start of my list. I'll spare everyone else the pain, it's a long list.

Car sat for 2 years I drove it 200? Miles, I've had the f12 for about 5 weeks, I was away rest of the times owned it. And I put 400 on it in5 weeks. I couldn't drive the Aventador, all it did was piss me off. Half million$ plastic, sure.......
