I was wondering if it is a good time to purchase a F12 Tdf now if so what would be
The average price for low mile car.

Great time to buy one if you’ve got the money!! There are maybe a handful available to buy so plan to spend 1.3 million or more. Now if this was a serious post you would already know this.

If you are blowing $1.3 million on a car do you really care if there's a $50k dip? Give me a break.

I’m thinking it was a poster or model of a TDF they were asking about.

Well. I care about every 50K in that 1.3 M. There are 26 of them.

This car will only go up. Buy the dip as they say

Three on the Ferrari site, there is one here in Orlando I believe that could be obtained ( I’ve asked). For me its about consolidating. F40 is beyond reach, as are the others. F12TdF is the one….. 812 Comp will be higher and higher but few have made it past the time AND most hold to be considered for the next one….

    love that red tdf!

the only issue with the tdf is you can't drive them unless you are prepared to lose a lot

Don't get me wrong so do I but that is why I'm not blowing $1.3 on a car.

first, i'm an enthusiast so usually i buy what i want and dont buy things for 'investment' purposes. but, when considering the tdf ont he investment side:

it seems to me that a the ferrari's get a "ten year bump" - 10-12 years after they are released, they typically start to creep upwards. we are getting close to that for the tdf. so if you are thinking to grab one, now would be a reasonable time so long as you were going to hang on to it for 3-5 years.

some other things to consider are insurance and annual maintenance. i know this sounds like a joke, but over a 3-5 year period it can add up. mine also has special storage but the net effect is that the holding cost for (my) car is roughly 20k/year, so over the course of 3-5 years, i would need to see appreciation of ~60-100k just to break even on the carrying cost for the car. (full insurance through chubb (just got a huge increase this year, wtf) with fmv at 1.3m ~= 8k, annual service extensions ~= 8k, storage ~= 5k)

of course, if you have other options (self insure, your own storage etc and dont drive/need excessive ferrari warranty year by year), you could reduce this carrying cost.

    --

that all said, i honestly believe that of the v12 special series cars, the tdf is hands down the very best one. the reason is that this is the most 'unferrari' car since the f40. maybe an 812c is nicer in some ways or the 599gto maybe excited people, but the tdf is just stupidly outrageous. and that's why i like it.

The only ones who could possibly stand to lose anything would be your heirs. But by then it will have only appreciated further, regardless of miles. And you won't even know/care as you'll be 6 ft under - with a smile still on your face from driving your F12tdf.
