This mule was spotted by someone named Tiziano in Italy. Seems like it may be a GTO variant of the F12. If anyone cares to embed the image, that would help.

I would think its far too early for a more extreme version of the F12.

Can't see them using a front engined car for a mid engined supercar which already has mules.

I also think it's too early for a GTO version, although I think that'll be a most epic car.

    California mule? KERS mule?

Agreed on all fronts. Much more likely to be new Cali mule.

I am going with Cali mule. Look at Cali style indent on front fender. Also, car has deeper rear diffuser. Not sure if that means "hot rod" or just new style.

Even though I was sure Cali, I put on my reading glasses (duh) and now think F12 variant. It would be odd for Ferrari to put "thong like" rear bumper and hatch back a la F12 on the "cheapest" car in the fleet. To ape the F12 so much would lessen the distinctive looks (read: cost) of F12.

That's the whole point of a mule; for people not to know what it is. The Enzo Mule was a 348 and testarossa welded together...

In my opinion these are old mules of F12berlinetta, with some different styles like little triangular window or nose...

IMO roughly 2 1/2 - 3 years until the launch and final ordering process for the F12 "gto" so this is to early for mules of the car on the road.

When I was at the factory a few weeks ago I saw this driving around. The guide said it was the F 12 mule that they now just drive to move people from building to building.

Maybe testing the "drive by itself" mode hence the covering of the windows?

The paddle shift lovers will finally get their wish, a car that drives perfectly with absolutely no input from them :D

Speaking of various mule cars, wouldn't it be cool to have a museum display of all the mules used? I would definitely check it out.

At the Ferrari Museum there are now several mule cars including the mule car that looked somewhat like a 458 that was used for the F12 development.

I like a lot this F12 with FF rear bumper, more conventional but easier on the eyes than the weird "tanga" of the final version, IMO.

I like the GTC wheels better too.

Think the F12 GTO will have 800 HP like the gas engine portion of LaFerrari?

The 599 GTO made about 50 more horses than the 599 GTB, which works out to about an eight percent power boost.

Assuming Ferrari sticks with a similar bump in power for the F12berlinetta—>F12 GTO transition, you'd be looking at an F12 GTO with about 788 SAE horsepower. Right in line with what you'd expect from LaFerrari's V12.

However, it wouldn't be as simple as yanking LaFerarri's engine out and popping it into the F12 engine bay; it'd have to be significantly retuned, because LaFerrari's engine is designed to work in concert with the electric motors that can supplement its (comparative) lack of low-end torque. The F12 GTO engine would probably be down on horsepower versus LaFerrari's V12, but have more low-end torque. I'd expect the "F12 GTO" to make around 770 hp and 560 lb-ft.

The big difference between the F12 lightweight and the 599GTO has more to do with Ferrari's racing cars. The next extreme track car will be based on LaFerrari - that could be 1-2 years away and the programme will run for a few years. The 599xx came about a few years after the FXX programme, and replaced it. The timespan between the Enzo and LaFerrari was more than 10 years.

There is little likelihood of Ferrari doing a racing car based on the F12 as LaFerrari is still brand new. The 360/430/458 lightweight models are all based on the Challenge cars, the GTO was based on the xx. So what would be the relevance of an F12 version? The marketing is always key if one has to sell a significantly more expensive version of an already expensive and capable car.

I'd say they're more likely to go with a hybrid-electric/KERS version of the F12 - a very watered down version of what you see on LaFerrari which would also be more relevant to the F12 replacement. There is generally a link between the last version of a model and the replacement.

I think I caught the front of it, it has different rims though. The most terrible pic I ever made, but I had to be quick and make it from out of the car...
