Greetings all, Just wanted to see if anyone had an opinion on Blue Americano? I'm seriously considering it for my F12 - a car I feel really needs metallic paint to show off it's lovely aero-details and panelwork. The F12's elder siblings (599GTB, 512BBI, et al) are all in Blue (Tour de France, Pozzi, Le Mans) so sticking with one of the Ferrari classic metallic blues seemed both consistent with the stable and my blue fixation! However, I was shown a sample of Blue Americano at the factory and it really intrigued me -- it's a standard 3-layer metallic, exceptionally high saturation, reminds me of a 1990s BMW M3 colour called Estoril Blue or the old Porsche Cobalt Blue metallic - except more saturation/punch and vibrance and much more metallic. It's allegedly very rare -- less than 15 Ferraris (all FFs) world-wide have chosen it --- but oddly it's no-where near as left-field a choice as say the pink 458 I recently saw on a trip to Indonesia - just a very bright, highly metallic blue that I think would work very well. Any thoughts/comments/much appreciated! Best Kumarious
Asked if they can make azzurro dino f12for me. Their answer was if time and money are not issue, sure they can. I backed off without asking price though...
I thought Blue Americano was a dark metallic blue - more like BMW's Carbon Black? It looks good, but only can only really appreciate it in the sunlight. There's some pics of an FF in that color on this forum. Also, some pics of an F12 apparently in that color on page 29 of the F12 picture thread. The other three layer bright blue that is close to BMW's estoril blue was Blu tri Strato, I think - there's a GTO in that color (pic of it in GTO pic thread).
Yes, it's more like BMW Carbon Black, which looks black in low light but is really a deep metallic blue in sunlight. There was a Blu Americano F12 at the Challenge Days event at Sonoma Raceway recently. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Saw this car in person, in multiple light settings. (In fact, they let my wife and daughter take it for a ride...). Our FF is Pozzi, we had been tempted to do TdF, but this color was really sharp, almost "in the middle" in some ways. We added Americano to the list of the few colors for our F12 spec...though the matte silver car was incredible. They had it in the garage next to my car Thursday night and I must have stared at it for an hour. FWIW, we looked at Americano on the config, in the sample book and on a "model" at the Atelier, it looked WAYY different in person, both inside, outside, sun and shade.
Thanks, this is all super helpful. I am totally convinced the very knowledgeable factory person said it was Blue Americano after learning of my blue fixation and volunteered that the total number of cars with this paint was in low double digits life-to-date. It looked very much like Estoril Blue to me but your comment about how this colour looks different every time and in every medium you have seen it makes me a little concerned.
Actually the best reference is Azurro Dino. The colour I am referring to is a highly metallic version of this (or so it seemed on the mini-clay model physical sample in the factory).
Reminds me of one of the best paint jobs I ever saw (was on some kind of street rod) which was black with a top coat of clear with blue pearl. Similar sort of effect and very dramatic, like black chrome. As this is a tri-strato, I expect the effect to be very similar.
It's pretty, but not what I would get personally. Especially if I had a bunch of other blue Ferraris.

One colour missing in the range is a good deep metallic blue. Pozzi metallic would be great and is possible under their special colour program.
I think its possible to order about *any* colour for your f-car. So you can have them paint your F12 a BMW or MB colour if thats what you want. Maybe a bit costly but probably less than the in-house 3 layers they offer......
No -it's either blu mirabeau or blu ribot. There was one entire thread about that colour. It's gorgeous.
The article states Azzurro Monaco which is a colour that has been around for years, however also says it's a 3 layer colour which I didn't have a clue of. I still doubt it is a 3 layer, though.
I thought it was Avio. By the way what is the ''official'' name from Ferrari for Avio? Thanks in advance.
All comments v. helpful. To be honest the more I research this topic, the more it seems that I need to see a sample car in the flesh. What was clearly indicated as Blue Americano at the factory in all images/links is much darker and different in all of them -- I know all colours vary depending on lighting conditions/medium of presentation, this is something quite different. The variation is too large... Blue Pozzi metallic as a special order also sounds like a very attractive choice. BMW's old Estoril Blue sounds both culturally blasphemous and financially unwise but the car would amazing in it..
FWIW solved this "puzzle". I had indeed been misinformed. Blue Americano is the very deep dark blue metallic highlighted in replies that I don't recall seeing. What I was told was Blue Americano was in fact Blue Electricco. Here it is, and seemingly a USD20K option: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySD1LKdZK6o]Electric Blue Ferrari FF Walkaround, Shots and Details - YouTube[/ame]
Have you verified this Electric Blue info with an official dealer or something? Hope it is not just the person who took the video that named the colour at his own criterium.
