F1 Watching Party

I may be there. I don't like not watching the races live though. The race is on at 10 am, but there is a repeat broadcast at 2pm. If I don't see it at 10 am, I'll come. Hell, even if I see it I may come and spoil it for everyone!

 

We are on our way now!!!

 

I just watched the race live and I'm feeling too lazy to make it out on this rainy day. Enjoy...

I'll be there, but the Ferrari stays home. It's actually clean for a change and it needs to stay that way.

 

Great venue today, lots of TV's on OUR channel. I could almost even hear!

I agree - this was a very credible venue.

Could I make a constructive suggestion?

I think that each watch party deserves it's own thread - perhaps some members may not be digging down through three or four pages of this one to get the latest news on where and when.

Just a suggestion.

You shouldn't have to dig. Just change your settings to "most recent post" and the most recent posts and news will appear first. Top left corner.

 

I know how to do that, you know how to do that, and so do most people.

I made the suggestion because a new thread title with the race country name (and date) would get more attention out to casual or new people to expand the exposure.

Further, I found that when I was organizing these - that it was best to start the Texas FChat announcement thread about 10 days before the event to give people time to plan.

Those are just suggestions - Shawn is doing this now.

 

For Bahrain watch party, I went to the right bar (Frankie's) at the wrong time (11:30 am as seen on previous Bahrain flyer). So I was the only one there. I saw the last 7 laps of the race live. Best 7 laps I've seen in a while, can't complain. At the time I thought that FC members must be like OZ's Wicked Witch of the West (would melt if they made contact with water). Now I figured out my mistake. Looking forward to China.

 

This is precisely why I found it best to verify the venue, have it locked in, and then post it in the separate thread 10 days ahead of time.

Of course, there are times when it does not work - we all remember the one race party last year when I verified the room and the reserved TV THREE times during the week, and then their JERK of a manager scheduled a Chicago Bears NFL football group right on top of us.

I like the idea of a separate thread for each event as well. Easier to follow and update if there are any last minute changes. And we all know how that can happen.

BTW, it was Eagles fans (yuck) and that restaurant is now closed due to poor management. Falling down in shock

 

Thank you Don - like I said before, it is just a suggestion - and very easy to do.

EDIT - Eagles smurfs need to be ground into the turfs.

 

We will have our own room and reserved parking. This is a non smoking room with multiple TV's and plenty of volume. We will have a racing simulator ( weather permitting ). We will also have a prize for the FCA member that has the quickest time in Ferrari F1 car.
