8th and 10th was rather flattering considering there were 12 cars left. Embarrassing is an understatement and they did it with a self inflicted spotlight on them.

    Can it get any worse....possibly

It tells you all you need to know about that team and why they are no longer successful.

They have tried different engine suppliers, different drivers, a multitude of resources and the same result over the past several years.

Two men at the top of that organization that concentrate WAAAY to much on one lone star and it continues not to bring them a driver championship nor a constructors championship. Just the facts!

Honda should buy the team and take over all the management.

One team at the low end of the points, the other at the front end of the points.

Who needs the headache lol. Supply the engine and a few tech folks etc. Let the team deal with petulant overpaid drivers, fans etc.

Personally Toto is probably mostly burnt out on driver management and petty politics in F1. No wonder he is looking to stay at Mercedes in a 'reduced' capacity.

When at the mercy of the power supplier you get this lol. No sympathy. At some point a joint venture could have been exploited but now its too expensive. Of all the major team who could leave, Red Bull are the most likely. The engine is the never ending issue for them.

Honda is just as bad as Renault; they keeps buying teams, and selling them a few years later.

Don't forget that the Mercedes-AMG team is the ex-Honda team they abandonned in 2008.

That team had been bought from BAR.

I think that Honda had already 3 different teams since 1965.

I found it mildly amusing when Todt was interviewed and he said that all the other teams need to kick there own backsides to beat the Mercedes, perhaps if he untied the other teams shoelaces they just might be able too. He is possibly scared they might just kick his butt instead!!

RUS was closing gap to OCO but cars behind thought this was the race was back underway & floored it (lights green)to find a near stationary MAG who’d decelerated when RUS did, LAT dived left to avoid MAG but too late for GIO & others to avoid.

Success in racing is cyclical. Ferrari had fantastic years with Schmacher. Mercedes is on a roll. but Ferrari has money so expect improvement. If they were cheating last year (bypassing fuel delivery rules by injecting fuel into the PCV return) they did a good job. Too good apparently. But they have had bad periods before. They will rise again. I am starting to feel sympathy for McLaren, something I *never* thought I would do.

Raikonnen in his Alfa Romeo better than both Ferrari. Is Kimi a better driver than Charles and Seb or is it the car?
Lucky Kimi and Seb re-starting at the end of the grid.

And don't forget, with a car that suffered a pretty big impact thus damage on lap 1. Kimi is driving superbly. Completely outperforming Giovinazzi. Not bad for the oldest man on the grid...! Kimi has the same terrible engine Ferrari has, and I really struggle to imagine that Ferrari would build a worse car than Sauber.

    What a race. Unreal.

Congrats to Hamilton and Albon. Well done.

Major bummer that Lance fell victim to a mechanical issue. Just glad he made it out alive. Sorry he lost so many points.

As for F1: While I love some chaos once in a while, red flagging the same race twice is simply idiotic. There was no reason for the second red flag. SC would have been sufficient. Or if they really felt like a red flag was necessary, they should have called it a day. 2/3 of the laps were done IIRC and the race would have given full points. That second red flag was an overreaction. F1 officials have become too safety concerned.

Track was a great venue. Wish it would stay in the calendar, looked beautiful and did give enough of a challenge to drivers and the good ones managed to get within DRS range to make the pass in T1.

Agreed with everything you said EXCEPT "no reason for a 2nd red flag....."

There were several reasons for that 2nd red flag:

    1) multiple cars demolished on the straight so had to remove them via truck/tractor.

    And

    2) shards of carbon fiber strewn all over at least a fourth of the straight. Sooo-->

    3) multiple Marshall's cleaning up and picking up the debris.

You're referring to the first red flag, which was absolutely necessary.

The second one was necessary too to repair the barriers. That's mandatory: no barriers, no race.
