im still learning guys but how come some have F1 champ along with years on dash and some dont? Is it on F1 transmission 360's only? Image Unavailable, Please Login
No it is for the F1 racing championships they won. Is that car a 2004? Has nothing to do with stick or F1 shifting.
They started with those badges in 2001. 1999 and Y2K cars don't have them. And, it's not just 360's either. 456M's and 575M's got them too. Cheers, George
Was this an option? I have seen something on a few window price stickers about "commerative badge' or some such thing. Do all o fthe cars have them?
U should have your Ferrari confiscated by the F1 dept for that question, it's what your car is all about.
I have never seen a 2001-2004 Ferrari that DIDN'T have the F1 commemorative badge, so if it was an option, just about everybody ordered it. Also, each year added another victory, so the badge on my '01 456M just commemorates the 2000 manufacturers title, the '02 cars have 2000 and 2001 victories, and so on. It was a great era for Ferrari and Schumacher in F1. Cheers, George
If the car didn't come with one, you can't add it: The "Matricola No." - serial number of the car - is stamped on the badge. I suppose somebody could duplicate one, but you wouldn't be able to get one through Ferrari. Cheers, George
I have a 2001 360 F1 and I don't have that badge on my dash. Mine says Campioni del Mondo 2000, Matricola No. "my chassis number" Nate

Sorry to resurrect this thread from a few months back, but I have a related question. I just got a 2000 360 coupe and I had the build sheet pulled up by my local Ferrari dealers service department. There were two options shown on the build sheet that are not with the car. The first is the luggage set (no surprise that disappeared). But oddly, the F1 commemorative badge is also missing. The 360 Modena badge on the glove box is in place. I an only guess that somewhere along the line the previous owner had the dash leather re-skinned and they forgot to put the F1 badge back on? Very odd. I want to restore that piece that should be there. Is the badge easy to install? I can't tell from the diagrams if it is screwed into place or if it just sticks on. Also am not sure on exact placement. Anyone install one of the official parts successfully on their glove box door? How did you get your serial number engraved on the badge?
Also, I could be wrong about the F1 badge being on the car. The part that is listed is DEDI. Is that the F1 badge or is it actually a custom dedication plate? There is no custom dedication plate on the car either, so whatever it was has been removed.
I'm pretty sure the badge was first seen on 2001 cars, commemorating the 2000 season (which Ferrari didn't have locked up until the end). I think there are even some early 2001 cars that don't have the badge.
2001 Campioni del Mondo 2000 2002 F1 World Champion 2001 2003 F1 World Champion 1999 2000 2001 2002 2004 F1 World Champion 1999 2000 2001 2002 2003 2005 F1 World Champion 1999 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2006 ?? 2007 1947-2007 60 year ( my favorite ) 2008 F1 World Champion 2007 2009 ?? 2010 31 Formula 1 World Titles 2011 ?? 2012 ?? So was the Dedication plate actually the silver badge on the console you could custom engrave? Or was it the F1 badge on the glove box? Thanks!
As far as I can tell, the F1 badge is standard after 2000. The optional DEDI is on the center console in the 360 and replaces the standard logo above the center vents on the F430 with a silver plate engraved to order. Is this correct? Image Unavailable, Please Login
The DEDI plate had nothing to do with the F1 plate. You provided a sheet to Ferrari and they engraved whatever you wanted (with limitations) in cursive or script. Typical might be "Built for xxx" or the owner's signature. More prevalent on the lower production cars. An example is shown in the earler post.
