Monaco is actually cancelled, not postponed. Dutch and Spain races are postponed, could be run later this year. The FIA regs only require 8 races to constitute a championship season, if racing starts in the summer and they tighten up the schedule they can easily get 8 races in. Worrying for Hamilton haters - although Hamilton is unlikely to break Schumacher's all-time race wins record this season (Hamilton has 84, Schumacher 91 - Hamilton needs seven wins to tie, 8 wins to break the record), the 2020 Mercedes looked like a winning car, so Hamilton could win the 2020 abbreviated championship and tie the record for most Drivers Championships. The worry is that if the same 2020 cars are to be used in 2021, and Hamilton wins the 2020 title, Mercedes will continue with a winning car, and Hamilton might easily win more races to take the all-time wins record in 2021, and win an eighth Drivers title and break that record too in 2021. On the other hand - apparently Toto Wolff and Lawrence Stroll did not take part in the last two conference calls between the FIA, Liberty, and the team principals to discuss the race cancellations, delay of 2021 regulations, and use of 2020 cars in 2021 - a VERY strange circumstance. Rumours are now floating that Stroll is recruiting Toto to become chairman of Aston Martin. If Toto leaves Mercedes F1 team, would Hamilton re-sign for a 2021 season, or try to move to... well, only Ferrari, really?
You don't get it do you? Going to the baker every morning is frivolous and goes against the idea of confinement: just buy bread you can keep for the week even if you have to freeze and toast it. You are supposed to limit your exits from home to ESSENTIAL and VITAL.
There won't be F1 this year. Maybe, in best case scenario, a couple of races towards the end of the year, however no World Chamionship. Just forget about 2020, it's off.
That's your interpretation, it seems. I can see people doing their shopping every day. What may be "frivolous" to you, is perhaps essential to others; who are you to judge? The cops are satisfied as long as you carry the form "ATTESTATION DE DEPLACEMENT DEROGATOIRE" . You sound highly stressed by all this. I take reasonable precautions, but I don't panic
Indianapolis 2005 comes to mind: If the British teams can't enter the countries where the races are held we will have Ferrari, Tauri, Alfa and Haas at the start. Nice. Nott...
Dear William, How can you write this? There is a government that judges, based on what scientists say. Nobody should go "shopping". Really, it doesn't make it less criminal because you 'can see people shopping every day'. If you think you know better than scientists, you're a dangerous man, not being aware that your frivolous behavior is not only criminal, it is fatal and it is a gigantic disgrace to the thousands and thousands of doctors and nurses who take considerable risks by trying to save as many lives as they can. It is also a disgrace to the millions of people who DO respect vital safety regulations. I can't believe you consciously want to be a moron like that.
I'm sure there's a better thread elsewhere on the forum to argue about social actions related to coronavirus. Might we keep this thread related to Formula 1, please?
I really wish some people were less sanctimonious about this and stopped judging others by their own standards. It seems that coronavirus turns into a good excuse for Joe Bloggs to look holier than God and pontificate. So, can we have less of that, and more understanding, please?
Analysis of what is possible this year and the 2021 season. I dont think its smart to have fans at any race if they race at all this year. https://www.espn.co.uk/f1/story/_/id/28931223/the-wider-ramifications-delaying-f1-2021-rule-change
BBC look at what is left for this year's season Coronavirus and F1: Delayed start or no season at all? What happens next in Formula 1? https://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/51977724
Love the idea. Should be more intense than Formula E. . I’ll bet Kimi hires a 13 year old virtual ace to drive for him that’ll mow down the field better than Senna in a 190.
The Indianapolis 2005 debacle was the final nail for F1 at Indy! This year without true racing, could have a major effect on F1s future!
no thanks, could see that popular around here but the only people old enough to be interested in those have watched them live already
