Well, I just sold my porsche to finance the testarossa. Now I am trying to get a prorated refund on the extended warranty I purchased from the porsche dealer. Its not porsche certification, but "EasyCare" which is subsidized by Ford. The warranty was for 5 years, I had the car for less than one.

They explicitly told me I can get a prorated refund when I was purchasing. I called EasyCare and they told me the same...

Problem is, Porsche dealer isn't returning my phone calls?!

Anyone actually get a prorated refund?

Didn't the new owner want the warranty included? Usually an extended warranty is a huge selling point... See if he wants it from you at the prorated rate(?)

You do not have to go to the dealer for the refund. Call EasyCare directly (their number should be on the contract).

    Good luck

Jimmy, was your refund truly prorated - or did you just get some token amount back? I only put 1000miles on the car and had it 1 year of a 4 year contract. Would I get 3/4 of my money back? Or do they take some huge commision out first?

    Thanks!

Normally you would have to visit your selling dealer in order to cancel your service contract. If the dealer is refusing to assist you, however, contact EasyCare directly and explain the situation.

That's the claims number. Customer service can be reached directly at (800) 458-7070.
3/4 minus a small cancellation fee. Cancellation procedures can very from state to state, so be sure to contact customer service for details.

Depends on the terms of the coverage you purchased (up to how many miles/years). They will prorate based on whichever you have used the most of, years or miles, and then subtract the cancellation fee from there. Remember that, if you purchased "new car" coverage on a used car, the proration starts from 0 miles and from the original in-service date, not the miles that the car had at the time of your purchase or on the date that you purchased it.
