Hey folks, I am a big fan of Austin and I'm actually considering a move there. I did a search on this topic but didn't really find anything useful. What dealers are there in the Austin, TX area that sell exotic cars -- particularly Ferraris? I did find Mooresports, but I imagine that cannot be all... I am aware that San Antonio is only about an hour south, but I am wondering whether the market for exotic cars in the Austin area is being fully served? Regards, David
You'll find Austin lacks in this area, as it's really pickup truck country with the exception of David Moore's customers, of which I'm one..... Houston has only recently gotten Lamborghini of Houston, to complement the long established Ferrari dealership of Mr. Risi. Not saying the cars are not there, but there are not many per capita, fo' sure!
As far as I know, your best hope is Elite Motorsports. I have never been in there and don't know what they have or do. I'd say your best bet for Ferrari viewing or service is Ferrari of San Antonio. It's only a hour or so from here. Elite Motorsports 2720 Hancock Dr Austin, Tx 78731 512-452-9068
No, but you will find about five 348 owners here in Houston which is close by. Come on down. Would love to see your SS
Hey thanks guys. Won't be making it down with the 348, but if I move down permanently the 348 comes I wonder if there is no market for such a place? I mean, there is plenty of money in the Austin area and I am sure plenty of Ferrari owners. Anyone want to start a Ferrari-only store?
What's that place called, its near Georgetown, there was a thread about it a while back, with the rare Vector and Missy Elliots Lamborghini. Its called something like The Toy Store. They sell t-rexs. I'll try to go back and find it.
Ahhh.... The Toy Maker. http://www.toymakerinc.com/live_show_room.htm I had heard about it once but did not know anything about it.
Toy Maker Inc - was n business but I heard the owner died (he did not live in Austin though), so maybe thats why they have had the doors closed and locked for the last year and a half. They did however, have a Vector, a few Ferraris, a few Lamborghinis, many T-Rex's, custom LONG Hummer type limos, decked out Hummers and a truck load of choppers that looked they came out of the "West Coast Choppers" shop. BAD ASS BIG BOY TOY store for sure! But they are closed for some reason. Elite Motorsports - is ran by SW and he is a Great guy! He has a few cars in there although I haven't been to his shop in a while. If you are looking for something particular, he can get it. SW is well known in the Exotic Car business and one of the best drivers in the south, so he is a good "go to" guy for Exotics. Moorespeed - is good and seems to have become the local Ferrari/Lamborghini tech shop for tha Austin Ferrari guys. Their work is very trustworthy and cool guys too. I have only been to the shop a few times, but no complaints. Autostrada - off N. Lamar Used to be run my Neil and he was a Great guy! But now has new ownership and a bad ass black 360 in there on the showfloor, or at least it was in there. I hear the owner also has a Lamborghini Gallardo too. There used to be alot of Lotus in there and a few Ferraris, but it's been a while since I have been by there. SS Motorsports - located of S. Lamar and 6th street area has a few Ferraris sitting on their lot from time to time. Usually they are WELL USED Mondials or 308's and sit out n the weather.... A.R.T. - American Racing Technology, located in S. Austin (Buda) is promarely a Viper / Z06 shop and it's common that there are 1000+ HP Cars in there. It's an excellent high end shop, but not Ferrari focused. Not sure if cody will be will be willing to work on F Cars or not, but I wouldn't put it past them.
both Ferrari of San Antonio and Ferrari of Houston wanted to open a dealership in Austin but Ferrari won't let dealers be too close together. Btw moorespeed is a shop, not a dealership. There's a pretty active club in town. We get together monthly. There were 15 cars at the last one with an even mix of 70s 80s 90s and 00 models plus an f40.
We actually have 3 F40s in town and an F50 and an Enzo. Here is what I have so far. 1 250 GTE/GTO Spyder 1 365 GTB/4 1 275 GTS 1 330 GT 2+2 Series II 1 330 Inter 2 330 GTC 1 365 GTC 1 246 gts (Dino) 17 308 1 512BBi 3 Mondial 4 Testarossa 1 328 5 348 2 512TR 4 456 GT 1 512M 9 F355 7 550 9 360 1 550 Barchetta 1 575 1 Challenge Stradale 4 F430 1 Superamerica 1 Enzo 1 F50 3 F40 Total = 85
I've heard that the Autostrada is moving somewhere down on 6th st. or something like that. They are moving so that they can have a much larger showroom. It looks like it might soon be the premier exotic car dealer in Austin.
Hey Mike... see if you can persuade them to have a "Launch Party / exotic car show" or something... Lets get a bunch of bad ass cars out there to turn some heads. Maybe there's an empty lot close by where we could hang out? Hmmm..... just thinking with a beer buzz @ 3:15am. Would be fun though!!!
No I don't think so, they are an authorized dealer for Lotus, that's all. It's kind of like how Barrett's isn't really called Ferrari of San Antonio...
Oh yea, thats right! Keep up the hard work man! Give me a call if you want to go for a cruise in the Viper sometime this weekend (you are down south too if I recall). I need to take it out for a cruise. 633-6316.
This is all I know about. There are probably more. You can go to my gallery to see photos of the Diablos. TifosiPhoto.com 1 Diablo GT 1 Diablo SV 1 Diablo SE30 3 Gallardo 1 Murci
Thanks Mike! Somehow I knew you would have an idea. You can add these to the Austin line up in a few months... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow!! Is that a real 550?? My friend has a real one and it's valued around 1.5mil. It that the Diablo with the GT body kit that another fchatter used to own? Did you ever find a condo and a garage? Sorry I could provide more help.
The 550 is a Beck reproduction. It's one of the early 80's Becks and they really did a nice job completely restoring the car a few years back (especially the interior). I did buy the Diablo off of a member on this board (slm) so the car should definitely look familiar. No luck on finding a condo with 3 garage spaces--I'm going to flying down there in the next few weeks to take a look personally so hopefully something will turn up. If not, I guess I'll be out in the 'burbs! Thanks for your help though--if anything else turns up let me know!!! Here are few more pics of the cars--I need to take a few more of the Diablo when the weather gets a bit cooler! I know someone who is selling an 11th floor penthouse that's literally right next door to the state capitol but I'm sure it's more than a million and I'm not sure about the parking arrangement. if you might be interested just let me know and I'll ask about more details.
Ha! Definitely NOT looking to spend that much but thanks for the heads up. Again, the 550 is replica not a 1.5 million dollar car!!! I may just end up renting for a while! Thanks again, Vivek
