I have not. I have used Metric and Multi-standards Corp whom I have found to be a good source.

I specifically need 8x25 1.25 12.9 chrome plated for some 3 piece wheels I'm refurbishing. These guys have them if I'm reading their description correctly and for about $1.30 each.

Seems a bit too reasonable so I'm wondering if it's Chinese junk, Chinese OK or what?

ARP has nothing that will fit as their head is too large in diameter.

I don't know of anyone else who has high strength SS socket headed cap screws. Theirs are 10.9 but I think that's acceptable as well.

I don't think you're going to find 12.9 in SS.

Maybe try one of the custom wheel manufacturers like HRE? They "might" share their hardware source with you?

Already done (Forgeline) that and yes they're 10.9 not 12.9 but they use a specially made ARP bolt which has a wider flange style head which is too big for my application.

So I'm thinking chrome plated instead. They came with plain old black 12.9 which never did stay looking good.

Get a machine shop to turn down the ARP bolts. black bolts are going to rust.
ARP makes quality bolts. Beware, all SS bolts are not all the same, most SS bolts are grade 2.

    Two things.

The bolts I'm considering are chrome plated.

Turning down the heads of 80 SS ARP bolt heads is going to be both time consuming and potentialy that could alter the strength.

So why would I do that?

Well I went with the chromed ones from Allen's fasteners. I don't have much choice on what to use for these rims. Too bad about the ARP bolts not fitting as Stainless would have been preferable. These were quite reasonable @ $113 shipped for 82 of them.

    Thanks for the input folks.

Back to the wheels refurb thread.

The chromed 12.9 bolts work and look great in this application. The tops of heads aren't pebble beach quality but way better than the original zinc plated ones.

It's a bit hard to contact these guys on the phone but I did eventually.

The website is a bit crude but I ordered and they showed up in three days from California to NJ for $6.95 in shipping and $1.30 bolt.

    I think that's outstanding.
