Are these two businesses related? I know Karl, but I'm not sure about this other guy. I know that he PM'ed me a while ago, but I wasn't sure if he was connected to Karl or not. I do know that at one time when you would click on the directions to European Road and Racing, the directions would take you to European Motorsports and Imports.

    Explain?

No sir, we are two different businesses, Karl has his business in north Charleston and we have our business in Goose Creek.

Then you should correct your address on motor circle's web site. If you type in European Road and Racing it gives your Goose Creek address.

Don't know EMI, but I do know Karl. I keep a European Road and Racing tag on the front of my Mercedes S Class--that should tell you who I use.

This "mistake" has happened repeatedly. And been corrected repeatedly. Someone continues to change it back, thus showing European Road & Racing (Karl's shop) located at EMI-SC's address. Strange indeed.

Dincenzo, if you are looking for the best mechanic, Karl's the guy. He's in North Charleston on Rivers Ave. Well worth the drive from Columbia. If you plan it right, maybe we can meet for lunch...my office isn't too far far Karl's shop.

Hey David. I heard you were in town...now working for Chris at EMI. I remember you from Jupiter MANY years ago. Welcome to the Lowcountry.

The times I've seen it happen it's been on Yahoo, or similar type directories. They can be altered by "members"...very easy. It's not unlike Wikipedia...anyone can add, change, delete information.

    Again, welcome to the Lowcountry.

Good for you Jeff, glad you have had good experiences with both. That's awesome.

I've played golf at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, FL...I haven't played at the Redbank Plantation aboard Naval Weapons Station Charleston. But I am just as confident that Trump's course is far superior to the Navy's as I am that Karl is far superior to any other local shop.

    Reputation goes a long way.

Ask Karl about my carbon fiber wing for my diablo. Let me know what he says.

Nah...I'll let Karl respond if he so chooses...he's on here from time to time, and messages can get lost in translation. I have no idea what it's about, and it really doesn't matter.

The only way I would go to someone other than Karl is if Karl closes his shop.

Like I said, if you've had good experiences with both shops...that's awesome.

I never said that I've had good experiences with both. Karl and I have done a lot of business but it didn't end good. David castlehano does all of my lambo work now. I've very pleased with him, I'm glad Karl is working out for you. Thanks

Well, stuff happens I guess. But I think it's good to get as much info out about shops as possible so everyone can make informed decisions. That's the beauty of FChat.

I've had one dealing with David when he owned a shop in FL. Then I moved. I'll stick with Karl :)

The wing is only a small part of a 1 1/2 year journey of rebuilding a TOTAL LOSS (for a reason) Diablo that has quite a few miles put on it in the meantime. Also keep in mind that I advised you against the purchase as I thought it would be a long drawn out process due to the extensive frame and body damage.
I have learned a couple of things in 20 yrs of being in business. You can not please everyone but I am glad you are happy with EMI. I hope you are enjoying your car and they are taking great care of you. Best of luck to all of you.

You are correct, you cannot please everyone. Emi is taking care of me and my car, thank you for what you have done for me and my car.

Which it always was and you knew that. You saw it before it ever had paint on it. Let's keep things honest please. I told you that if it was to be painted that CF was a waste of money for may be 1/2 lb difference.

I don't know about 1/2 lb, it's pretty heavy and has no mounting studs. Roy cats told me it was worthless. I personally think it looks better wingless but it was nice to have it anyway. I hope your doing good, I think there is enough business for both of you. You guys shouldn't dislike each other, both good people.

I agree 100%. I have great relationships with many shops in town, including dealers. We can all make an honest living. Now let's make it happen and stop this nonsense.
Best wishes to you Jeff and your friends at EMI-SC.

    Gil,
This directory sounds very unreliable to me and I personally would not use it. Thank you for the warm welcome to Charleston, I love it here.
After a painful divorce I landed in HHI/Savannah and found niether to be a Ferrari town. Despite a resume that included hands on experience on 8 of the original 250 GTOs there was no work to be found.
I applied at both shops in Charleston soon after. Karl was very kind and said as much as he would love to have me work there he had no room for me. EMI has a larger shop and is expanding in January. I'll have a shop just for exotics.
We are in the enviable position of doing what we love for a living and a little competition raises everyone's game in any profession. The people that benefit from this are you guys and you are all welcome here at any time. This includes Karl.
Again thank you for the warm welcome!

I don't think things worked out very well at all (see article about $225,000 check). I'll
let those that know more chime in on that one. ;)
