Hi guys, The Euro section seems to be a little bit slow lately. Some people only post a few short messages in the Bonkersthread and others seem to have lost interest entirely. Where did the Ferrari spirit go? What can we do to improve our section? I am missing a lot of members that were very active in the past. Especially a lot of Belgian and Dutch dudes seem to have backed out. What is going on? A lot of people read the messages but don't react. Post your Ferrari questions! Tell us about your Ferrari experience. Tell us about your Ferrari dreams. React! Live the dream! Forza! What is the deal? (Or is thread going to die just as slowly as many of the other threads) Ton
Ton, same thoughts here.... I just went thru the fchat.com...munity list. I believe 50% of the registered users dont post anymore. I dont know whats up or going on. BTW, thanks for the mail and I will think about the idea.....yes, its getting boring.
It is not just the Euro section, is the all thing. Perhaps the problem is that, unless it becomes personal (I mean, you use this forum this to keep contacts with FRIENDS or potential ones...), the majority of the new thread are either re-post or plainly a waste of time. As far as I am concerned, I still love to look into the site, talk with friends, discuss topics or support whoever needs help that is in my capabilities, but after some bad experiences (sometimes just lurking, without direct involvment) I prefer to avoid some sections. New enthusiasm is needed, talk about real life Ferrari experience, not "Is Ford better than Ferrari" or " the all difference in life is 0.1 sec on 0-60.. Just my 2 p. Ciao and see you soon Eugenio
Yes I agree! Some people only seem to have interest in their own nonsense threads. There is no Ferrari spirit anymore. They don't help to build this site to a higher level. That is soooooo boring. It is also a fact that the Americans often just ignore posts from non US members. You can see what happens with this thread. It is always the same group of people that is really responding to something new or ignite something new. The largest, boring, group just looks and zaps away.
...at the end...who cares??? if we only get 10 engaged people every year, that's ok for me and it's great. these are also the people who join our events, and that's the most important. if you have joined an event once, you'll stay together and fchat is the perfect place to do that over the distances. if i look at the time i have been here and the people i've met (including our moderatorpowerabusers ), i'm more than satisfied.
The problem is also that if you have a qestion that had been already posted, the only answer you'll get is "use "search" button...." OK but this kind of comportment, will not help people to speak with others... (i'm not speaking specially about the european section, but about the all forum... For sure, question like "does the 348 'll make a good first F-car" or "wich exhaust is the best" are more than frequent...but if the only answer the newbie get is let's do a "search", he won't post again, and won't be motivated to post another thread...
I agree. And the best thing is that the people here that I have met, I have really spent time with, not just 2 or 3 hours, but 4 or 5 days. Andermatt, Tuscanny and the Schwetzingen weekend. This is the best way to get to know people...also the best way to know who to avoid...Ton...
Both UK and Euro sections are more fun when you are bantering with people you have met. Doesn't always have to be ferrari related though. Just as much fun talking about Ton's groovy chat up lines.
Euro section slow? As a matter of fact, yes! The core activity is gone so it's less interesting. We certainly have a great number of Ferrari-passionata here but the soul is more or less getting lost. The reason for this probably lays in the fact that there's too much nonsense-talk and honestly that's not really the thing I am looking for. On the other hand, Fchat still is a great place to surf around. There are always good topics and I think I can say what's hot or not. But it certainly would be great to have (again) a place where all the hardcore individuals can meet eachother.... I have meet some great people through this site and hope that those established contacts don't get lost in the nearby future. It's time for a revival. All the best, Joren REMANS
Wow, cool the thread is running! Yes, please speak loud & clear! I realy love to read those wonderful comments, thats the way it will work for the future! Joren, Marc, Simon, Eugenio, Trevi, Ton, Bob - thanks and very well said!!!
Well, I think this section ran much more smoothly when Wolfgang was moving house... only kidding wolfy
