    I keep finding different numbers.

I thought the weight was a little over 2400 pounds?

    Dear Comrade SINISTR,

The manual for the 1992 F-40 states thus: Kerb weight, empty 1235 Kg. This equates, I believe, to circa 2717 pounds.

    With kind regards,

According to the Bluemel book, Original Ferrari V8 the dry weight of a US F40 is 1350 kg (2976 lb).

And as a result of those moustaches, they are a fraction longer too.

    4358 mm versus 4400 mm

    Dear Comrade thepinkumbrella,

From this it would seem that the US specification F-40 is 259 lbs (two hundred and fifty nine pounds heavier) . . . . . almost ten per cent more than the original English and Welsh versions that you and I are so fortunate in possessing.

Surely this cannot be the case? Can the US version really be that much heavier than the originals? No doubt Joe will put us right on this and allay all our fears; thus that we in England and Wales may sleep at night without fear or worry for our American friends. Safe within the knowledge, and certain in the assurance that God is in his heaven and all is well with the world. For myself, and until proven otherwise, I just cannot allow myself to believe that the US F-40 is this much heavier.

    With kind regards,

It is 10% heavier, but rather than 478 ponies it has 515.

no way in hell is it even close to that.
theres a guy in Europe on L Power that weighted both his F40 and CS, BOTH were a tad over 3000 lbs
the manual and Ferrari specs are utter BS, no question whatsoever
    sadly :(

    Dear Comrade Joe,

If the US version of the F-40 is ten per cent heavier than the Euro F-40 it surely then begs the question of how this extra weight may impact upon the handling and whether the suspension componentry may be different - for example springs and shock absorbers? Furthermore, DK Engineering when performing many F-40 tests on their dynomometer have always found the Euro F-40's to provide rather more than 500 bhp.

Humm, I'm not to sure about these figures guys.

As far as I know the Euro F40 weighs less then the numbers posted here so far. At least I thought they were around 2400-2500 pounds or so?

So far it seems that about 2700 pounds is the weight of the Euros from this thread....

Seesh. Cmon, patience is a virtue! We have day jobs and F40s are only a hobby. LOL.

OK, I agree with Paul and Graham. I have:

    Euro F40 - 2717 lbs
    USA F40 - 2976 lbs

In fact I have notes that suuggest those numbers are dry weights. i cant confirm anything as i have not weighed my USA F40 yet. When I do, I will report.

Humm, so I guess about 2700 pounds it is. I thought it was lighter then that, not that about 2700 pounds isn't light for a modern road car LOL.

    Thanks!
