For now, at least, the weather forecast is ZERO percent chance of rain all weekend. Roadster weather! We'll be at the host hotel Friday afternoon/evening.

This is the answer I got:

Google Earth pic shows hotel with red dot, blue dot for hotel people trailers and orange dot down Salters road for day of show trailers.

That is also the parking lot where day of show cars await field loading.

It is Hubbell Lighting, yes that Hubbell, our own WilliamH's family's company.

There will be no parking at the hotel. There will be very clear signage as to where to go.

We have professional free bus service running continuously to the front gate of the show.

I'm really excited about the step up of the quality this year.

CAFE caravan down to the Euro Auto Festival!

This has become a great tradition for the day. Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend this year, but here are the instructions for those of you that wish to make the run together.

As always, the meet up is at Belmont Abbey College starting at 7:15
(Exit 26 off I-85). Gather in the large parking area to the
right as you enter the school grounds. With a prompt roll-out at 7:45,
you should arrive at the festival around 9am.

After a full day, most usually head back around 3:30-4:00ish, once they
have announced the award winners and such.

    EURO Auto Festival

    Belmont Abbey College
    100 Belmont-Mount Holly Road
    Belmont, North Carolina 28012

For those that can't join in the drive and are coming earlier or
later, here's the address of the festival:

Embassy Suites Greenville Golf Resort & Conference Center
    670 Verdae Boulevard
    Greenville, SC 29607

Everyone is welcome to meet up and join in the run. Wishing everyone a great day!

Remember, cars need to accrue at Hubbell Lighting, right down Salters Rd from the hotel.

They will be released in groups so there will be no back up and overheated engines going into the field.

This Google image shows Hubbell marked with an orange dot and the hotel with a red one.

I hardly had time to walk around but this was an awesome event. I loved the rolling hills. You could overlook most everything from some locations.

This was a fantastic event. We stayed on site at the host hotel. Parking was convenient, accommodations nice, the golf course venue beautiful. I was impressed by the quality and variety of cars. We'll definitely go back next year.

And the YES! Roadster won a corporate award. I did get to chat briefly with Karl Troy but wish I had met more FChatters.

    What a cool car!

I loved seeing it. Thanks so much for bringing it.

As you know, it was our first year at this venue.

The problems I see, and have found out about are as follows:

1.The food at the food tent was simply awful and overpriced. Simply NOT what we were promised. Also, the smoke got some cars greasy.

    2. The award presentation was a disaster (again). Believe me, that is a top agenda item to fix for next year.

    3. Someone told me the posters were $20!?! I'll look into that, seen highway robbery.

    4. We did not do a parade lap because we figured the first year, all the logistics, might not work. Hopefully next year we will have that prepared.

    5. The crossover for the Brits and MG got pushed into rougher rather than the fairway due to the BMW class taking more room than expected. This defeated the purpose of the cross over as it was meant to avoid some rough and broken cart path, which in retrospect would have been preferable to the crossover.

On positive noted, the field, for the most part filled much quicker and easier due to the color system, big individual unique numbering system on the colored envelopes (modestly, both my ideas!) and well planned out fill lanes and multiple split offs ( the field designer's idea).
This was always a big problem before with cars in long queues overheating.

I think the signage was outstanding this year.

***If you would kindly add any constructive criticism to this thread, I would greatly appreciate it as we will have our debriefing in the next few weeks to make next year even better.***

    Thanks to all who attended.

On a sad note, my BugEye grenaded its gearbox loading onto the field and lost all gears but reverse. So I got practice driving it backwards the length of the show to the parking lot! Now I have static garage art. :(

Very sorry to have missed this year's event. Dealt with a sunk boat instead. Apologies I couldn't have transferred my spot to someone else, but this was truly a last minute "distraction".

I thought the venue was beautiful. Only suggestion would be to have better signage or people directing from the lighting parking lot to the golf course. I pulled out of the lighting parking lot and had no idea which way I was supposed to go.

    Great event

Dean, I sure enjoyed it..... Totally forgotten about the BMW plant, this was a mini Amelia Island. You and everyone did a super job.

I did not find out until Monday that my Rosso Barchetta colored 550 won 1st place, that was crazy. I just came out to support your event. Had no ideal.

    Best,
    John Denton

Recommend signage both to and from show field to Hubble; exited field onto unfamiliar road and got promptly lost. More ballot voting boxes a la Zentrum field. Also partial to more passive (visual only) sponsor advertising vs. audible kind. Trailer parking was very well arranged and organized. Great army of volunteers.
