i need help....what did he say about his cars? i think its like."its not just a car.....its (?)" i dont know can anyone help me?
When asked what the best Ferrari is his answer was this "The next one we build" When asked about racing driver "He who dies in a racing car dies a honourable death"
I have heard a few, including: "Spiders are only for American playboys" and one of my favorites: "Aerodynamics are for people who can't build engines"
My italian is going to be very bad, but upon hearing that Eugenio Castellotti had died in a crash during testing it is rumored that he said something like... Castellotti è morto? Mi dispiace. E la macchina? Castellotti is dead?... I'm sorry.... And the car?
My favorite Enzo Ferrari quote, like Ferrari 360 CS posted, is, "The greatest Ferrari ever is the one we have yet to build. The next one." For some reason, I find this to be very inspirational.
Very cool. two of my favorites also come to mind: "I make cars for young men that only old men can afford" and, "It's not how fast you go, it's how you go fast."
Shark you should've put "Spiders are only for American playboys" on your sig haha just jokin! Great quotes!
There's probably some differences in the translation. I've heard that one too. I've tried to find the original quote in Italian to see which one would be more accurate, but havn't been able to.
Also: "I have no problem with design by committee, as long as that committee has an odd number of less than three." but the aerodynamics one is still my favourite. Another good one by one of the US race drivers was "horsepower has a tendency to break things... if you're not breaking it you're not going fast enough"!
Sorry, just looked at that and I don't think that's one of his most inspirational/funny quotes. Although not Enzo that said it, one of the best quotes that sounds like he should've said it is: "winning isn't a matter of life and death... it's far more important than that" the late, great Bill Shankley - Liverpool FC
"La storia si scrive con un pizzicco di realtà...e molta fantasia." History is written with a dash of truth...and much fiction.
