http://www.sleepy-fish.com/sleepy/TopGear_Enzo_Supercars_hi.wmv [right click + save as] for enzo + supercars on top gear. the vid looks to be good!
Nice video. Couple of interesting things I noted: 1) Jeremy kept referring to it as the F60. I understand why, everyone else seems to call it just Enzo. That was different. 2)Jeremy's right hand fingers were shifting on a few of the up shifts. That was cool to watch. 3)He called the F50 ugly. I disagree, but everyone has their opinions. 4) It was interesting to note, as the years are going past, the McLaren F1 is still gaining respect and love around the world. It truly was/is an amazing machine ahead of its time. 5) The CGT had the plate "49ers" which hit home for me. 6) It was a cool video, but I still stand by my opinion that the Enzo is one of the ugliest cars ever made. Car should have been designed in Italy, and not by a Japanese dude. Sadly the design shows its country of origin, and to me that is not a good thing. All that said, fun video on a Thurs night.
That is the BEST Top Gear I've ever seen. Awesome! WTF? XJ220 ahead of ZondaS? I don't get it. Ryan ... funny you should say the Enzo is ugly ... I usually do ... but in this vid, I thought the views "from above" made it look awesome! LOL BTW ... 300 miles on the Enzo? In one or 2 years? I'm never listening to Pink Floyd anymore! F40 = yummy x 99.
XJ200 beating Zonda... I think the twin turbo v6 in the xj220 derived from the IMSA GTP Jaguar race car that replaced the v12 race car. It was keeping up with the Nissan GTP and the Dan Gurney Toyota GTP which were close to 1000 HP at the time. And the force induction tend to accelerate faster than NA.
I don't understand why. The Enzo is not the F60--never was & never will be. The F60 won't be released (if made) until sometime around 2007. Greg A
i don't understand it, either; Clarkson sounded very uninformed by continuously calling it the F60...
It could be the owner of the Enzo that was tested, who told Jeremy about Enzo= same thing as F60. If so, he doesn`t know anything about his car. F60 was NEVER mentioned by Ferrari. Its Ferrari Enzo, thats it.
Could you people be any more anal? What ever happen to the good old days when every one was laid back and not so picky about everything? Before it got its name, every thing I know of referred to it as possibly the F60. So he still calls it the F60, WHO CARES?! It's not devaluing the car any, everyone who watched it probably knew EXACTLY WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT. Now if he called it a bugatti, then you guys might have a reason to call him uninformed, etc. But I got $50 saying if you ask him what is the F60 also referred to as, he'd say Enzo and vice versa.
But that's just the thing; had he called the NNO by its codename - the F140 - then it'd be a different story... "F60" is the name the media latched onto because they had no other information... The NNO isn't "also known as" the F60, it's just the NNO or the Ferrari NNO; F60 isn't an alternate name, it's misinformation... Now, granted, i'm probably being anal, but in the six months i've been with The Ferrari Market Letter, Gerald has corrected me countless times on things i've said because the information i had was wrong... Hence, my penchant for pointing out misinformation... When i was new here, i would take everything said as the holy truth of truths; a lot of that came back to bite me in the ass...
If you saw the list of exotics he owns, let alone his normal transportation, assorted flying machines etc it's a bloody miracle that the Enzo has as many as 300 miles on it. Nick Mason is my Hero. I want to be him when I grow up, especially because he has the best car ever built - the 250 GTO !!!
I get what your saying but one part is slightly inaccurate. Its alternate name could very well be F60[although not official and given by the media, which he is]. Its official alias might be F140 or something but thats just how Ferrari refers to it. As far as I see, its like calling a WRX a scooby, as long as everyone is on the same page and although its not official, whats the problem? And as the second part goes, its the internet. We all know there is only holy truths on the internet.
I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. Jeremy Clarkson can pretty much call any car whatever he wants. In the car world in the UK he's Da Man. . As I recall, before the world officially knew the name of the Enzo, a whole bunch of publications were calling it the F60. I guess in Clarkson's world the name stuck. Whatever, it's a god show (both the F60 part and the supercar comparo).
I have super old clarkson videos when he was a lot younger. Many from when he was still with Tiff. They are all British format so they can only play on an international tv & VCR. He's a funny guy and is entertaining. I'd rather watch Tiff drive, and I trust his assessment of cars more. But I'd rather listen to Clarkson speak.
...and that's the problem; a whole bunch of publications were calling it the F60. That doesn't make it right, though... It's like the song "Red Barchetta"; every DJ in the world says barchetta with a ch sound as opposed to a k sound, but that doesn't make it right... Wayne, that's a gray area, so i won't argue with you; i've heard that, as well...
First lets go after the people who claim Sean spells Shawn. After that, we can move on to less important matters.
Mason is supercool. Here's some of his cars; Panhard B1 Bugatti T35B Alfa 8C 2300 ERA B Type BRM V16 Mk2 Jag D Type Maser 250 F Lotus 18 Ferrari 250 GTO Ferrari 512S Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Porsche 935 K3 Ferrari 312T3 Ferrari 512BBLM Ferrari F40 Lola T297 Tyrell 011 Porsche 962 Mac F1 GTR
Considering the fact that you're claiming it's called the Ferrari NNO, I'm afraid you wouldn't have a leg to stand on anyway.
