This pic has been taken by Ludacris, one of the protagonist of the film, on the set of the sixth episode of Fast and Furious. Obviously it's a fake: you can notice by watching the front and the wings. There are so many things that make you wonder it's a replica. I just think they make it in this way because the car is gonna be destroyed in some scene of the film. Yeah I can see it now, its going to be some stupid ass scene where a ford focus with a green light underneath beats this car & some how it crashes or something. Then you'll have 75% of kids on the street thinking a toyota supra can out run an enzo.
Fast Five reviewed amazingly well, shockingly well. Both Fast And Furious (the fourth film) and Fast Five made crazy money at the box office, taking just under $1B in ticket sales worldwide. It is a very profitable franchise, and if the trend of improving quality continues we'll be seeing at least 3 more.
I would imagine that this is a stunt car, so they can destroy an Enzo without destroying an Enzo. Ferrari SpA could very well be involved.
Not to be a jerk but there are alot of Supra's that can beat an enzo in a straight line if it's a drag scene.
*head plant into the desk* un - believable. They are beating the dried up soil upon the ground with sticks, where many years ago used to lay a dead horse in that exact same spot.
The movies and cars are getting better. It went from two Mitsubishi Eclipes to all the supercars they had in the most recent film. GT3 RS, LFA, K'Segg. They all ended up making over $11MM so maybe this film will feature higher end cars. I just watched Fast Five. It's good for a car film.
2001 - The Fast and the Furious = Worldwide: $207,283,925 2003 - 2 Fast 2 Furious = Worldwide: $236,350,661 2006 - The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift = Worldwide: $158,468,292 2009 - Fast and Furious = Worldwide: $363,164,265 2011 - Fast Five = Worldwide: $626,137,675 When would you pull the plug? Almost $1.6 Billion buys a lot of Enzo's Not many franchise movies can claim $500+ million for a fifth installment. When you are paying the top actor $15 million (Vin Diesel), trashing a few expensive cars is just another prop. Still nice to see them using a fake, unlike that debacle with Eddie Griffith.
Right...Totally.... Leave em alone. The movies are fun. Might be completely moronic, but they're a lot better than watching some pregnant nothing from the east coast trot her offspring all over this planet.
ugh ...well, hopefully this is the crash/action car, and there is a real ferrari enzo (fxx looking) used for the "hero" shots
I liked the first film a great deal, but the second film wasn't as good - still enjoyed it though. The third was one I watched on a plane and probably would only have set out to view it in that environment - where there was absolutely nothing else to do. It passed the time, but I didn't particularly enjoy it. I figured the franchise had passed its best and never saw any of the others. Do 4 and 5 actually compare favourably alongside the original? Are they worth seeing or not? All the best, Andrew.
I find it hard to believe that anyone past the age of 13 actually likes this ****. The Enzo/FXX design are intellectual properties of Ferrari S.p.A, thus they have every right to sue if they see a ****ed up version of their design in celluloid. They even threatened Miami Vice back in the day, as the producers were using a replica Ferrari. Then Ferrari gave them a real Testarossa to shoot the series properly. As for the souped up Supras, any moron can turbocharge a poor car to 1000 HP. There are even proper supercars with 1500 HP. But what a stupid thing to do to your valued exotic!
This probably is the only movie franchise that with each sequel gets better results at the box office. Re: the car, is a tubular chassis with a BMW engine homemade by a brave guy in the Canary Islands, where they´re shooting the film, IIRC.
first one was good, brings back good memories of being younger for me and really approximates the start of the tuning scene, neon underlights used to be absolutely everywhere around here back then ! all the other films are terrible imo
Lots of people having hissy fits over nothing. Better a fake one than a real one, no? It's not at all like the 2nd one with shiny lights, chromed spinners and 40K paintjobs. As mentionioned earlier in the thread, the last one was full of epic, proper sports cars. +1. The fifth one really saved the franchise though IMO. 2nd was crap, 3rd one ok, 4th one was ok, 5th one was great. Yes, parts are unreal but it was still watchable.
I have managed to miss seeing every single movie and yet I don't feel like I have missed a thing. I'm no fan of fakes, but I will say the creator of this Enzo ripoff got closer than many other much more awful attempts at recreating a supercar. >8^) ER
I like the movies too, they are just fun! At least it wasn't like Redline where the director crashed his Carrera GT on purpose because he didn't like it.
