I had the same thoughts
Magazines and the new stands are a total mess right now. Emails I'm getting from inside the Industry has said all magazine distributions to news stands are at the risk of the magazine companies. In other words distribution has stopped as have payments an any guarantee for future payments. I suspect whatever is inside any give B&N will stay there until reopened but almost all will be tossed for future issues coming on news stands for those magazines that dare ship any.
I think I will be okay on Enzo. Being quarterly, it has hit the Alaska B&N Sept, Dec, March, so #12 would be due to us first week of June. Enzo is all historical stuff, but there may be some magazines with no content to publish if all the racing is off. Still need Via Corsa magazine...just saying.
Reading this thread I always wandered - how one could mess up a magazine distrubution so much? It's impossible! But... I subscribed Enzo in February, and about month later I recieved my first magazine - 10th issue. Managemymags says I should recieve Issue 12 soon. But where is my Issue 11? And why did they send me #10, when my subscribtion starts from #11? That is amazing!
That could be great as long as there’s no duplication of content. Maybe the distribution and fulfillment exec at Dennis Publishing should take a look at this thread.....
we had a meeting with them last week, not the exact distribution people, but they did mention it has been a challenge to figure out deliveries overseas now.
Understandable, but they’ve had problems delivering Enzo since issue 1. The strange thing is that delivery of Octane has been virtually flawless over more than 200 issues.
Mine has arrived a week ago And of course it is #12, so I guess I won't get #11. But if only I would get four issues I have paid for I won't mind: I am impressed with this magazine.
Image Unavailable, Please Login Saw it in Geneva Thursday (was there with special travel permit) at Rive and the train station. Did not buy it, not really interested in Fiat era Ferraris.
My Barnes and Noble is opening on Friday. Haven't been in three months, and I usually go once a week. Taking my bigger truck... Enzo #12 may be there, but it would be about a month early, based on quarterly arrival here.
B&N stores in Georgia are still closed, and Books-A-Million doesn't carry Enzo, but I suspect that we won't see #12 here until next month.
Total let down at my Barnes and Noble. It looked like the magazines did the evening they shut down. I was the first into the store, and the magazines were messy; they didn't even straighten them up from two months ago. Two employees reminded me that they had not received any new magazines in two months. Expecting a shipment next week. About 6 copies of Enzo #11 on the shelf.
I just returned from my first trip to Barnes & Noble since reopening and their magazine selection was pitiful. Only a handful of any publication, and for car stuff it was a bunch of Consumer Reports, 1 copy of Automobilsport, a Ferrari special edition magazine from last year, and a Porsche buyer's guide. That was it. The staff at the store claimed they hadn't received anything because a lot of magazines weren't being published, which isn't true. I already had to buy Enzo No. 11 off of eBay. Very disappointed.
Talked to my car magazine/book seller the other day about European magazines. He said the reason for the dearth of inventory is the lack of TransAtlantic airline flights. So we’re all pretty much on the same boat. Who knows when normal flights will resume?
So far I haven’t noticed any significant delays in my subscriptions (even Enzo!) or single issue purchases.
