This damaged Enzo at 305K could make a great platform for a Concept. Jim, are you offering coachbuilding services now through SCG? Or by "we" do you mean Pininfarina? As an aside, $305K, even if the tub is damaged does not seem too bad of a deal.
I agree. By we I mean SCG. We have access to PF if one wanted to use them for design and many other designers as well. We could help with most things one might want to do for example converting an Enzo to RHD or other modifications. Now that I'm retired I have more time to become involved with interesting projects.
Could or could be another one. With the net until you dig deeper it's hard to know but that site has 15K cars and some would make a very interesting platform for a concept like the Sandy damaged F 430 spyder @ 31K$. In the past a lot of show cars were made from damaged cars including the PF Birdcage which was made from a wrecked MC12 race car. Platforms that could be used include F430's Lambo G's /Murcies/Aventador's Enzo's, 599's, Corvette's, Lotus. You can use a new car as we have or save some money and use a wreck with an undamaged chassis/engine/gearbox.
It's something someone in your country asked us about. He also wanted to do an F50. Paolo who did the Sultan's cars is part of our team and is working on an estimate for him. It's a big job but not a huge job.
Interesting....will be great if the conversion does happen, at least then there is a chance some people in SA will get to see these cars on the road.
I have been thinking about a concept which is slightly less glamorous than your Enzo inspired idea. Start with the Tesla based motor and digital converter and battery. Use a carbon fiber tub and panels. You should end up with a less than 2500 lb, sub 4 second 0-60 time concept with a 300 mile range.
