At its 13-15 September 2019 track event at Watkins Glen International, the Empire State Region (ESR) of the Ferrari Club of America will offer its three day Instructor Training Program (ITP). The ESR’s ITP provides instructor candidates with the opportunity to earn

Motorsports Safety Foundation (MSF) Level 2 instructor certification, or

MSF Level 2 and ESR instructor certifications.

To be considered for ESR/MSF Level 2 instructor training, candidates must

complete a brief application for the ESR's ITP (including a recommendation from an accredited HPDE organization's chief driving instructor)

have fulfilled the requirements for MSF Level 1 instructor candidacy (https://www.motorsport-safety.org/initiatives/certified)

complete a Pre-ITP Evaluation (waived for candidates with established instructor credentials from other HPDE organizations with sanctioned instructor training programs)

[Individuals who need a Pre-ITP Evaluation (which focuses on candidates’ knowledge of instructing and on their driving skills) must register as drivers for one day--minimum--of the ESR's track event at Lime Rock Park on 2-3 August 2019 (http://empirestateregion.com/events/lime-rock-park-track-event-5/) and are responsible for the event's registration fee.]

register (and pay the registration fee) for the ESR's 13-15 September 2019 track event at Watkins Glen International (http://empirestateregion.com/events/fall-3-day-watkins-glen-track-and-corning-weekend-event/), where the ITP will be offered

be willing to let instructor mentors drive their--the candidates’--cars during the ITP’s role-playing scenarios and evaluations

understand that acceptance into the ESR’s ITP does not guarantee success in the program. Candidates’ success--or lack of success--in the ESR’s ITP is determined by the candidates’ performances.

Admission into the ESR's ITP is limited. Individuals who complete the program successfully are responsible for the MSF Level 2 registration fee,

Questions about or application requests for the ESR's ITP should be directed to [email protected].
