Thought I would spice it up abit to see what we think here in Canada. Yeah, I know I could put this in the Politcal section, but it would not get feedback because its a CDN question. So lets hear it.

Looks like we are headed into an election, what thoughts do we have on our current status if we stay liberal? And if pc should win a minority, or majority how much better off will we be?

Lets keep it civil, and talk issues and points of view. Both positive and negative for the parties.

Please vote as well, the thread will not show who has voted for specific reasons.

It is my beleif that the result of the next election will by much like the current situation, a Liberal minority government. The Conservative's agenda may have strong support in the west, however they seem to be focusing only on this particular group and there is a strong negative opinion on them in the rest of the country. Will Canadians "punish" the Liberals for what they have done? I hope not because I believe that we will not be better with a weak Conservative minority government. This is what happens when there is only one political party with nation wide support, you get stuck with them. It is also a shame that the Conservatives have such an unpopular leader because this would be their golden opportunity to form the government.

My personal opinion for the best possible result for canadians would be a Liberal-NDP partnership to maintain a majority.

Can someone tell me how a person votes in one province when he is located in another?

Jeeezus f-ing christ! The f-ing NDP is worse than the f-ing Bloc, for crying out loud! Layton drives a bicycle!

BY THE WAY, F-cars and socialism DO NOT GO TOGETHER. Finish your educations, kids, go to work, then start thinking about politics. For now, STFU.

Bloc is awesome because they focus only on the people they need to effect, yet the NDP is great for the entire country, dont tell me you would rather have the PC instead of the NDP, if the PC ever came in power we will all die and they will legalize rapings in the ass, thats how much there ****ed............

    Conservatives of course..........

NDP is a f***ing joke...........might as well elect Stalin.

They are nothing more than freeloading pigs suckling at the Liberal's "trought of entitlement" because they are to f-ing lazy to ""get a haircut and get a real job" and pay off their student loans.........they are usually the typical useless arts types and people with a BS degree in social engineering or the study of elephant penis skins...........total wastes of human flesh and the air real people can breath.

I like the Bloc Quebecois because they are representing those people in their province to the best of their ability.......we "NEED" an ALBERTA SEPARATIST PARTY in the worst way.......I'd vote for them in a NY second. I hope Quebec seperates under the new BQ leader.....it'd make it easier for us to do so and end this socialist farce of a kuntry (the o was deliberately deleted) we call "Kanaduh".............

Anyone want to know what I really think....heh !!

I think Rick said: "Lets keep it civil, and talk issues and points of view"....

No wonder you vote for the NDP, you can't even read. Good luck being able to afford an F-car once your taxes skyrocket and companies pack up and move their profits and jobs south of the border.... all part of the 'NDP' plan. Look at what they did to Ontario under Bob Rae. If you knew anything about politics, you'd be able to see that their platform has barely changed at all.

Don't worry though, I'm sure you will still be able to get a nice cushy job working for the Government... it will suit you nicely as it doesn't require much ambition, creative thinking, or personal responcibility. You certainly won't need those entrepreneural skills (not that you have any) when you solve problems with your tax and spend policy.

    CONSERVATIVES all the way.

Here are my points to why we need a change from Liberal to PC.

1)Liberals have been in power for over 12 yrs now, too many fat cats raping stealing. (ad scam to add only 1)

    2) Lack of respect for decisions and promises they make.(Eliminate the GST)

3)There is no direct relation to Bush with PC, but it would help Canada deal with our largest trading partner both importing and exporting(tradewood lumber issue, liberals have failed)

4)Immigration is to hit its highest level since its been recorded under Liberals. They have had no vision to how these people would assimilate into Ontario and Quebec since these 2 province carry 85% of that injection.

I could go on but the list is too long.

As for the PC side, Harper is not my 1st choice as a leader, but Im willing to give him and his team a shot only because the Liberals continue to rape and steal and now no longer apologize for there actions. Most business owners that I talk to on a daily basis express change. Change is good, this a prime example of where change is needed.

As for the NDP, this has a platform to save the world, unfortunately the world does not want to be saved. There social programs need to be paid, and its always paid by people who work. Unfortunately with a declining work force, and the baby boomer going into retirement and being a large drain on the social programs in place(which they deserve fully) who will pay for the additions? I dont think it will be all the immigrants the liberals are letting it.

Its gonna be me. I have an issue with that plan.

Therefore, I think the best bet currently is to have PC in power as a majority for next 5 yrs.

    Cheers fellas.

I just want to make it clear that I would certainly not want an NDP government because most of the stuff you guys said is correct, they would totally put everything backwards. Jack Layton is not the man to run the country. We need a change in the worse way, but IMO our other choices aren't too hot.

Kds: Woah man you've got some serious issues. I see you don't have a bright vision for our country.

b-mack: If I knew the answer I would not ask, besides they probably teach that stuff in highschool.

    Let's see ...
PC : no thanks. Waaaay too conservative for my liking
Bloc : uuh, yeah, sure. I kinda like Duceppe but I still can't grasp a federal party representing only guys from Quebec. What the hell?
NDP : still haven't figured out what these guys are about ...
Green : errr ... considering canada's natural resources usage ... my green conscience is worth less than thousands of jobs!
    ...
    ...
    ...
who else is left? ... PL, I guess. They're crooks and liars like 90% of the others ... but they got busted, unlike the rest.

So if we all take long hard look at the last 10 years of political leadership vs. how the citizens of that country are doing (economically, socially ect ect… ) how would Canada compare with the rest of world? # ONE .. Dam right!

Would you rather be in the USA, England, France, Germany these days ?? …not many would.

Yes there is always the “ but it could be better”.. statement but it could also be “ a lot worse” … ..
Like when Brian Mulroney served as prime minister from Sept. 1984 to June 1993. This was a bad time for all Canadians. But I guess we all forgot about that dark part of Canadian history.

Good point about the rest of the world. But you need to add to this. The past 10 yrs and you include Brian Mulroney from 84-93. Those years due refelct the highs of a Trudeau era which believed in spending. We had a shock of Federal debt when Trudeau left. Brian put us back on track to eliminate a deficit, plus had a world wide recession to content with in the middle of his office turn.

The Liberals took that since 93, and back we go again to were we started. I did not believe in the free trade agreement back then, but today most economist are saying their has been a positive feedback from the deal.

As for a comment by soemone else, yes the choices are slim, but why is it we need to vote Liberal to keep them cheating and stealing from us without a clear plan ? This is the major questin I ask.

If you were in a job where you were always under performing, and were given many notices do you think you would still hold a job ? I think the same should refelct with the liberals, they had there chance, they blew it. Its time for a change.

Why cant we get someone like Ralph Klien to become PM. If he could balance a budget, and make it profitable, plus do social programs surely we can can find a PM that can do that for the rest of Canada, cant we ?
