Posting the text and image here for posterity, as links and photos tend to evaporate on the web over time.

DesertDawg, do you know this facility?

Those familiar with the economics of racetracks (quit laughing)... does this one have a good chance of coming to fruition and long term survival?

    My first observations are:

Is this just a go kart track?

    Not much runoff space.

You've got the two back straights parallel to each other going opposite directions... maybe not high speed but they're gonna have to have a significant barrier for when the joker forgets to tighten his lugnuts

Being short and tight doesnt necessarily mean it's not fun. Texas Motor Speedway infield is a hoot in momentum car.

What amateur series would schedule dates in El Paso? More than a day's drive from almost anywhere in Texas, and not all that close to population centers in New Mexico.

I have cars in Midland that I can bring here. Need more info if this is only for go carts. Hope not, but El Paso Traffic is horrible.

Looks like someone trying to fit a big slot car track into a single-car garage. No way is that a safe(ish) configuration for Real Racers(tm).

Could be with good barriers but I agree it looks to have been designed to fit as much pavement as possible in a small, already defined space.

They must have had an unused strip of land left over next to the drag strip.

Don't know how they'll support it in El Paso but I wish them luck.
