    Dear technicians

Can anyone tell me if there is a difference between the EHA valves (electro hydraulic actuator valves) used for several Ferrari's and for example the ones found on a Mercedes/Audi/Porsche etc.?
The EHA valve from my Lancia Thema 8.32 is internally leaking. I want to replace it with a new one and they seem to be exactly the same as used in a lot of 80's and 90's Mercedeses. Even the pin connectors on the EHA valve from this Ferrari engine are the 'Mercedes style' ones. I found out that the valve on a Audi/Vw has the bosch style connector instead of the 2 round ones.
I know that they are visually the same, but does that also count for the internal parts and adjustment of it?
Sinds it is a horror story to replace this thing on a 8.32 engine i prefer to do it, if possible, only once.

Bosch partnumber of the valve found on my 8.32: 2437 020 007

    Your help is much appreciated!
    Steve

I recently bought an EHA for a 1988 Mercedes Benz 300SEL (for use on my TR) and the part that was delivered was Bosch 3437010040 Parts Set which contained:

    1 each 2437020007 EHA
    2 each 2430210041 O-rings
    2 each 2433414007 Torx cheese-head screws

since you are specifically looking for a 2437020007 EHA that is your exact part.

    Great!

And this is a plug and play option? It's not the case that the EHA's delivered for Ferrari's had the same partnumber but a different setting/adjustment? Because this adjustment seems to be VERY precise and i don't have the tools that are needed for tuning of this EHA, beside the fact that it is impossible to do once it is fitted in an 8.32.

    Thanks a lot!

Don't see how a manufacturer could have two different adjustments for the same part number, and then keep it all straight about what part goes to what end user -- but JMO. I have no technical information about adjusting the EHA to any specific target so I can't add anything more (hopefully, Larry Fletcher will comment).

The original EHA on my TR were/are 2437020008, but I've been using the 2437020007 on one bank and can see no significant difference in how the EHA current changes in each bank during closed-loop running (which implies that its transfer function, EHA current input -to- EHA affect on FD lower chamber pressure, is very similar or the same).

That adjustment, which is a refinement calibration of the pressure differential, is done at the factory (by Bosch) in order to set all the units to the same target specs. There is enough manufacturing variance in the internal parts and in the assembly, that a "post-completed" adjustment ability needs to be provided.

Once originally set, it requires no further adjustment for the life of the component. And, all the units sharing a common Bosch p/n are set to identical specs. So, if you are matching Bosch-to-Bosch numbers, it is "plug and play" ---- no adjustment required ---- regardless of application variances.

As a mercedes owner ( w201 2.5 16v), i had to manage with ke jetronic, i am not a specialist but i see how it woks.

I am pretty sure that eha valve made for mercedes have mercedes connector and surely not the one made for ferrari.
The same goes for my Hirschmann antenna, share with some Jaguars but with a more agricultural connector style.

Except if the price is really expensive, you should buy the right one as it's already set up.
But if you don't mind spending time trying set it up..........

As mentioned before by Steve and finnerty this is the exact replacement and it also has corresponding connectors as well as partnumber and adjustment. After testing i can only agree.

Reread post #2 in this thread -- the Bosch 3437010040 Parts Set contains the 2437020007 EHA that you need plus new o-rings and screws (and 3437010040 is shown in that .pdf file).
