I guess since I have been loyal to LOD for 8 years I still thought I would get the treatment I was used to even with new management. Was not the case. Rob, I would think you would get high end treatment because of your position to some degree. Have you bought anything from LOD lately?
I have never bought anything from LoD, only involvement was Poker Run stop for club and Jonathan working there under old ownership along with knowing Carl from racing. Boardwalk could care less about me except maybe for getting people out to the show. Shad has a very unaffected attitude about everything, he is very even keel which I think is good most of the time. He doesnt get overly excited by every little thing, but I could see it working against him in your case as a longtime good LoD customer who doesnt want to take any steps back. I see your point of view. Carl and Terry have a very loyal following, just like many on here will follow Jonathan and Chet wherever they go.
Agree. Unfortunately, If I live here I cannot buy from Lambo of Houston because of the non compete. Not that I could buy this year anyway. As bad a year as its been in the housing market, I will end up selling not buying.
whatever you do just dont go near expo houston or nxcess. I went to buy my SL from Expo 2 years ago and the salesman completely brushed me off and they had a nice one just like I wanted. Ended up getting the car elsewhere 2 days later, blown commissions for being an *****
I'm sorry that you had a bad experience at Expo. I have bought 2 SL 500 from them over the years for my wife and they were always great with me. Went out of their way to make sure I was sastistfied. They usually have a nice selection of high end cars on their lot.
I too had a great experience with expo in Houston. purchased a 911 from them a few years ago with no problems.
nxcess cars are not good from what I have seen... I don't like nxcess much how about Auto Dynamics? Is it still owned by Sanjay?
STAY AWAY FROM STRAIGHT LINE. I had a nightmare dealing with them. Misrepresentations and Multiple issues with the car, including an inoperable odometer (so that mileage could not be accurate). They kept the car 7 weeks trying to fix it. They kept the title 6 weeks before sending it. The car was not accurately described. Horrendous communication. I ended up sending the car back, losing several thousand dollars (shipping fees, negotiated restocking fee) but it was cheaper than trying to sort out this car. (Yes, I had a PPI done, as well, but the odometer was not caught). Once returned, I am still having a nightmare getting my refund of $45,000. Don't let them sell to you off of ebay, either, as you lose your protections. They pulled the ad once we had a verbal deal and I have no ebay protection. My advice: STAY AWAY from them. Anyone wanting more details about my experience can contact me. Rob
same story with ecarlink for me. he had a 355 i was interested in. it was way overpriced. i tried to negotiate. he wouldnt move. i found the same year, color and model at ferrari of seattle with half the miles and all f books. i bought that one instead. they were a pleasure to deal with. the funny thing is, i live in houston. ecarlink is in dallas. i was much more motivated to buy one i could see and test drive. instead i bought one i had to pay for someone to go see for me. very glad i went that route, she has been a flawless 355 and a pure pleasure to own. barry Image Unavailable, Please Login
In fall '07, I looked at a 458 at Straightline. Car was nice and priced fairly; they were polite, helpful, and seemed upfront. But I didn't buy it beause i wasn't impressed with the model in general. Since then, I've seen lots of negative posts about them here on Fchat, and consequentially would be quite leery about approaching a serious deal with them.
And if you weren't impressed by a 458, I was wondering what would do it lol. But not getting all warm and fuzzy over a 456 is completely understandable.
I just put a deposit down on their 05' spider, and having Norwood do the PPI on wed. I certainly don't want to get a lemon! Curtis there at Elink was extremely helpful, responsive, and friendly. Maybe this Len guy from 2008 is gone?
Keep in mind from any of the indi's - you get no support. The cars may be cheaper, less of a hassle to purchase....but you will be at a dealer sooner or later with a big bill that you may not have been expecting. This is the truth as I have seen it. I would always have a dealer or James at Norwood do a PPI without exception. You must be very, very, very thorough when purchasing a high end car from any one.
