Did a ton of searching here and elsewhere and cannot find guidance on this. You press the thermocouple probe through the cat or y-pipe bung till it's all the way in, thread the 14mm collar on by hand, start tightening it with a flare wrench....but how far to go? Seems like a lot more thread there than necessary. The elaborate exhaust electronics and sensors on the 355 have me nervous. Thanks for any guidance.

    Couldn't find a torque value for the F355, but I see a value of 10Nm in the F430 manual and 9.8Nm for the F360. i.e. about 7.3 foot/lbs

Thanks Ian. The TC's have a strange feel. I guess another way to ask this is, How deep do you go with the 14mm collar? Until it bottoms out or just a few turns?

I see. Do you have OEM thermocouples or universal/adjustable types? (e.g. from Technistrada).

    I haven't fitted either.

Just firm you are only crushing the compression olive to confirm an air tight fit. If you go to hard you will crush the thermocouple. After a few drive cycles check that there snug.

If the nut has not contacted the olive, you will be able to pull the Thermocouple out a bit (and push in). So, turn carefully the nut and check the "play" of the Thermocouple out-in. When there is no more such play, the nut is in contact with the olive. From there, turn another, I would say, 1/4 - 1/2 turn.

    Beetle and Targatime like this.
