    This past Saturday, I participated in a small Ferrari show for children with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, with which Dino Ferrari had been afflicted. It was held in conjunction with Duchenne Awareness Day (Sept. 7), and part of a worldwide "Project Dino" to promote awareness of the disease and its victims. The event I attended was organized by the Upstate NY region of the FCA, and I was asked to participate, as they wanted a Dino in attendance. A group photo of the event was taken, with the cars lined up, and the children, all in wheelchairs, posed with their favorite Ferrari. The Dino was a hit, and the largest number of children posed next to it. The local coordinator for ParentProjectMD.org told me that "there will always be a strong connection between Duchenne MD and the Dino automobile." I took her for a short drive in the Dino, and she enjoyed it immensely. I don't know if other F-Chatters are aware of this endeavor, but it was very gratifying to have been involved in something which brought a bit of joy to the young boys suffering from this fatal illness, and their grateful parents.     I went to the website for Centro Dino Ferrari. It would be worth it to research more. Centro Dino Ferrari looks to be founded by Enzo, sponsored and supported directly by Ferrari with Piero Ferrari as the honorary president. It is focused on funding research on muscular dystrophy and other diseases. This could be a good opportunity for cross communication/alignment with those associated with the Dino Project.
