The bidding wasn't real. Real money probably stopped somewhere around 800 to 900k. After that the shills kicked in and it was jumping a 100k per bid to get it to the 1.8 just under the reserve. The bidding was pretty much the same thing on the A6G CS

This is done for a couple of reasons. The seller now knows that his reserve is way out of line and the car is being setup for the next sale, where if it gets a real bid in the range of the fake bids the hammer will come down real quick.
Agreed. The owner of this car should have taken the 1.85m and ran! Just because the FiA clears it to race in events doesn't mean much IMO.
Hi Gentlemen I have never been to one of the big mainland auctions. I do read about the "shady" bidding practices that take place. Can someone tell me how one would know if a bid was real or not?
