Are you saying you’re French...and then immediately surrendered?

A car can never be too fast. The accelerator pedal controls the ultimate speed. It is rare when boobs are excessively large but it does happen.

It's predicted that the US will trend to require this as well. Back in 2017, it was expected that by now, California may be trending to require GPFs to be installed on all 2020+ vehicles.

The 458 is one of the best PF designs between the two companies. So much nicer than what Manzoni has has done with them. But comparing the Enzo really with anything production is comical. 458 and Enzo should not be used in the same sentence IMO.

Completely understood. I too test drove the F8 and was stunned at the acceleration and traction during Launch Control. Beautiful car, wonderful in every respect BUT the sound just isn't there. I only drive my 458 with the valves open, usually with the windows down and rarely with the A/C on. The sound is an essential part of the driving experience. If you have to space, consider purchasing the F8 as an addition versus as a replacement.

I test dove it awhile back and while I don't share the same attention seeking sentiment (find it annoying to be constantly filmed) I do agree with your assessment. I feel it's a great car for only a couple of instances.

    1. Someone who already owns cars with soul, and is just adding to the collection
    2. Someone who's new to the brand and just wants the latest and greatest car
    3. Someone that lacks the ability to emotionally connect to a car

I found it blistering fast, fun, and to have precise and predicable handling. But at the end of the day, it lacked the most important trait of all. Soul.

I've since driven another one (red) back to back with a 458 and the decision was made. It's not for me.

For those that prefer sound over performance, there is no need to justify your own personal choice.

Just did a quick search on Autotrader and found 5 F8’s for sale. I assume Ferrari is not requiring new car owners to sell the cars to the dealers anymore.

It does. I was not an F1 single clutch fan, but the post-2012 versions of the DCT are miraculous.

I still can’t over how the 458 is now ten years old and still feels, looks fresh.

Update. I started this thread and want to reiterate that I really want to love this new F8. Since then, the dealer is looking into the situation if I change the exhaust and how I would deal with the warranty dilemma. No promises yet. Unless I have something concrete, I am still back at square one. Again, never did insinuate that the 458 is better. No way in hell, the F8 is the better car hands down, but the emotional component for me is missing. Let’s hope I can have an exhaust system like that black F8 I have seen on YouTube, that car sounds godly. If I can’t have that exhaust upgrade with no issues, the I am back at saving a few more pennies for the much bigger jump into a Speciale or 812.

Interesting observation and I agree with you. I’ve had at least nine Ferraris and the ones I’ve kept truly stirred the. soul; 550, 458 Spider, tdf

Just FYI, the 488/Pista/F8 exhaust upgrades do not add much at all in terms of fixing the problem. Google the Pista vids first and you will see.
I am starting to like the look of the F8 though. A bit McLaren, and thats not a bad thing.

$100 you will sell F8 in 2 weeks, if you do get it later. Just don't swap the 458 spider for it. Gosh no, because then you will be buying the 5th 458.

Hopeless IMO. An F8 will never sound anything like a Speciale or non-GPF 812 even if you went open headers on it. The time for that has long past. There in nothing the dealer can look into. Since you are interested in a mid-engine the Speciale is the last great one that would satidfy your true desire in a Ferrari.
