I apologize if this topic has been brought up before but I wasn't able to find anything with the search function today. I'm shopping for an early F430 and see a few cars of interest come through a dealer named "Driving Emotions" in West Palm Beach, FL. (Address 848 12th Street, Lake Park, FL). Being from Washington, DC I have no familiarity with the dealer or the area. Does anyone have any familiarity or experience with this dealer and its principals? Is it a new business or has it been around for a long time? Nothing shows up at the Better Business Bureau web site. Along a similar vein, can anyone give a recommendation on where to get a thorough, critical pre-purchase inspection around that area? Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale, which I think is the closest Ferrari dealership, does not offer that service and could not offer any suggestions on who might be good to do one. Thanks for your assistance. I hope to join the ranks for Ferrari owners shortly.
Blackhorse performance is good for the PPI. Driving Emotions is run or associated with John Temerian I think (Supercarguru on Fchat). I think it is a fairly new venture, but they show a large inventory. The building is next door to my old office in Lake Park. BT
Hahaha not me. I wish... they have a really big inventory. LOL David Garber owns the place. If you need help negotiating etc he is right around the corner from my warehouse. Best, Jt
Thanks all for the recommendation on the PPI. I will look up Blackhorse. This is the car they are currently listing that I'm intrigued about: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250562083456 Any care to venture what that car should sell for in this market? Thanks, David
150k. Thats just my opinion though, so its useless. Also, right there is Rosso Corsa. 561-747-2407 Both them and Blackhorse are highly recommended for the area.
if the car is in Palm Beach County, which it is, call RS Imports and ask for Ryan 561-743-6441. Tell him PaulieB sent ya!
Finally got a chance to talk with Dave at Driving Emotions. Seems like a nice enough guy and he certainly comes across his fair share of nice cars. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem we were very close on agreeing on price but we'll have to see if the market is continuing to move or if it has gotten some legs under it. The prices on the cars seems to get into the mid 130's on eBay and I am at a few thousand above that.
John Pasas, one of Dave's guys, is a very close friend of mine. They are both stand up guys. They have very nice inventory. I know where that car came from, was a nice car last time I saw it. Used to be in Atlanta if I recall. Dave will take good care of you, so will John. Good luck with the purchase.
Paul, Thanks for the lead-in introduction. Dave sounds like a sincere gentleman. Too bad we're a bit far away on price. He speaks very highly of you. David
I'm bumping this thread for up-to-date information about this Driving Emotions. They're showing a car I might be interested in, so any insight or information about the dealership would be appreciated. Feel free to PM if you prefer. Thanks. Jack.
Blackhorse Performance is no more, unfortunately. Christian and Stewart are now working for FMFL. This makes FMFL a better place to take your car, as those 2 guys are standouts, but it leaves us with one less option as to where to go.
Thanks, Paul. David was out but I spoke to John (I think). Unfortunately the car I was interested in (M-Bz 560SL) had already been sold. Jack
Looking for assistance from the group. I am looking at a few 2003-2005 360 F1 Spiders. All under 10k miles. What would you go with, a CPO from a local dealer or an out of state Driving Emotions car for 10-15k less? I guess the question is, what's the value of a cpo? I know there will be maintenance costs along the way, I'd just like to get the best deal for my entrance fee. (Purchase) Any more thoughts on DE in general would be helpful. Paulie? You still around this chat? Thanks for any useful tips. Jim
I think CPO is "certified pre-owned", which is an awkward way of saying that the car has passed some kind of factory-approved inspection by the dealer. (or, taken literally, they are certifying that the car is a used car) I guess whether some sort of warranty is involved with "CPO" depends upon the make.
OK time to awaken a sleeping thread. So I have been to Driving Emotions twice in the last twelve months and have met with a really nice salesman named Tomas Diebold. Very knowledgeable and courteous. It seems that they have predominantly the same inventory as they did on my first visit 8 months prior. I was looking at SLR's and Murcielago's. Any thoughts?
