Good morning all! Has anyone used Dr. Colorchip? The process looks good for creating a flat rock chip refill. I want to do a fill in before I put on the clear bra.

    Thanks!

I have extensive experience with Dr Color Chip, Langka, and DIY rock chip repair.
Dr. Color Chip is best when you have "rash", that is, a lot of tiny tiny chips. The Langka system is better for chips that are larger than rash but not too large (maybe up to 3mm in diameter). Any larger than that, if you truly want to make them disappear, you need to do it "manually". That is:
    1. Wet sand the chip to knock down any ridges on the edge.
    2. Apply touch up paint, layer by layer, until you have a "blob" that is higher than the surrounding surface of the paint.
    3. Sand the blob down flat (I can provide details if requested).
    4. Apply swirl mark remover to knock the flat down to just a tiny bit under the surface of the surrounding paint.
    5. Apply one thin coat of clear.

If your base color is a good match, the chip really will disappear!
    :)

Maybe I'm being picky. I've got like 3-5 tiny rock chips, not close to each other. Should I just accept it and put the clear bra over it?

    Thanks!

If they are tiny, just Dr. ColorChip them. It's amazingly simple and you most likely will not find them after the clear bra is installed.

Hi,I would like details of the sanding method please.
Does this method work with a metallic paint as well?
    Thank you.

I like dr. colorchip better too. Caveats:
I believe it will work better on solid colors vs metallic. It looks ok on my grigio titanio, good but not invisible.
It doesn't last too long, at least in my experience. It'll dry out in the jar.

Not as well with metallic paint, but better than colorchip, etc

If you go this route, you need a polisher to polish out the sanding marks. Google it, there's lot's of info out there.

After you have built up a blob and that blob is fully dry (at least a day), take some blue painters tape and put the tape around the blob but leave a hole in the tape as close as you can to the actual size of the blob so that only the blob is showing through the hole in the tape. Buy a small 240 grit sanding block and carefully wet sand the blob until you are sanding on the tape on all sides. Of course you could do this with 500 or 1000 grit sandpaper and no tape, but you'll be sitting there forever.
Once the blob is flat and down to tape level, remove the tape and wet sand with some 500 grit paper (on a block), then 1000 grit. By the time you get the blob perfectly level with the clear coat, you will have scratched up the clear coat on all sides with the 1000 grit marks. Get some Maguires swirl mark remover, squirt some on a rag, wrap the rag around a rubber sanding block, and rub rub rub the area until the scratch marks are out of the clear coat. Once you get this far, the blob will have also been buffed down to just below the clear coat, which is perfect. Apply a thin coat of clear with a little brush in the blob area, let dry, then see if you have to lightly sand and buff with the 1000 grit, you may not have to.

if u have tiny chips, a simple touchup paint applied with a tooth pick is all you need. automotivetouchup.com sells it for $13 instead of the $40 kit that dr colorchip

dr color chip works if u have lots of chips or slightly larger size chips. the larger the chip is, the more time you'll want to let the paint dry before using the solvent (as a liquid sand paper).

tiny chips around 1mm doesn't really need dr chip if you apply very little paint at a time. just do 2-3 coats of the paint.

I agree. It works amazingly well for this, but not as good for larger chips.

Most of the time when putting a clear bra on you must lift the bra repeatedly when sizing, and fitting it. When doing so touch up will usually lift. The problem is present even if touch up has cured properly! Even when a bumper is repainted professionally must wait at least 4 weeks prior to attempting clear bra as lift can still be a problem. Always discuss with your painter and bra installer regarding your wishes to clear as many will not guarantee their work.

What's the recommended touch-up paint for Ferrari colors?

    Does it matter?
