So I got to struggle through 2017 w my 2009 Corvette DP. She's a beautiful dinosaur now.
400# to heavy w obsolete aero but she's still got power.

I'm wondering how I can get more power or lose a few 100#.

  2. The few hundred pounds? Easy. Pull the powertrain.

(This, of course, puts a slight dent in the power situation. :D)

Will the now obsolete 2016 Vette DPs be eligible to race anywhere? I assume a few of em are gonna be on the market.

Yes, they race at my club FARA. I think SCCA still has place for them & vintage HSR, SVRA.

Probably some other clubs like FARA too.

what will the rules allow you to do?

DPs were tube frame alloy, which puts them at a natural disadvantage to carbon tub prototypes. monster V8s add to the problem (but sure are fun :D).

in FARA you have a lot of LMP3 cars you're up against. I'd focus more on aero grip than weight reduction.

Yes we're doing more aero grip for infield. Doesn't matter as much in the banking.

Have you thought about running in IMSA instead?
