Wow - Ty once again but realize that you are going to have to start the whole process over. I am leaning on the 599 side which will require your much valued assistance.

I know I know - a Pujols signed jersey is in order.

Doug- Good 599s are easy to find. You just need one with a SN in the 157xxx+ range so you can update to HGTE standard.

Terry, can you please explain why this is the case? Is it due to newer software or components on the later cars? My friend has a 599 for sale & maybe he could use this bit of info in the advertisement. His is 162xxx

There are three on Dupont that have it installed. My guess it's the gents who are buying GTO's selling them.

Mike- I am just quoting what the dealers say. The actual SN is 156938. The parts catalogs to which I have access do not show the changes that baseline that SN or the Assembly Number that goes with it. Here is the actual info on the upgrade from our sponsor Boardwalk, from whom I bought my 575M.

From what I can see the package includes new springs and a thicker anti-roll bar, a new Motronic ECU or reflashing, a new F1 ECU/TCU or reflashing with quicker shifting, a new shock ECU or reflashing, new 20" OZ wheels that are 1/2 inch wider in front, Pirello P Zero Corsa tires, an HGTE exhaust with more sporty sound, and a new grille (?) and matching cavallino.

interesting, I thought it was Ingrid.

is/was Nuvolari an out of range color, or part of the "heritage" range? I know it was popular on the Maser Spyders about the same time your car was built.

Too funny - that was at the European Car Show. The Clear Bra Detail Shop had it on display at the booth. It's the HGTC Sport Pkg.

Thanks for listing that video ... man is f-chat unbelievable or what!

I watched it about 2 weeks ago, then I remembered that Fchat had a member in STL with a 612. Not sure how many 612s are in STL, so I thought it was you.

Doug- After a certain period of time, it is easier just to copy your text, post a new ad, paste, and edit. If that is your car in the video, you might want to put in the link to the video courtesy of agup.

Incidentally Grigio Nuvolari is a Maserati color, PPG code 290617. Here is a 599 in the same color.

    cool video!

was that your Healey in front of the 612? oh wait, that Healey was in one piece, and running. bahahahahaha!!!! :D

thanks Taz! I knew you'd have the answer :)

PS the interior on Doug's car complements that color much more than the 599's does.

    Terry

That is my Scag, never realized how loud the exhaust note sings at low rev's. You are right on the listing but after that not sure how happy I am to sell it :)

Amazing some kid at the show entrance was hoofing it towards my car, the least I could do was rev it a lil bit. I had no idea that he caught the Scag at the show or on the way out.

    Thanks for sharing

Doug- One of the reasons it sounds so good at low revs is that, as near as I can tell looking at the parts catalog and workshop manual, the 612 did not come with pneumatic exhaust valves like the Maranellos and 599. The stock exhaust is therefore pretty quiet. When they went to HGTC, however, no mechanism for operating pneumatic valves, so the exhaust is open all the time. Hence great sound all the time.

The 612 follows in the tradition of its predecessor, the 456/M, in not having pneumatic exhaust valves. The contemporary 355/360 did have them.
