They appear on the parts diagram but without ID, so no one I've called has been able to locate any without the #. Six per side, I think. Anyone have the part #, or a cross reference trim screw somewhere else on a 328? Thanks!

Leonard, I am refurbishing the interior of one of my 308s. If you have one of the interior door panel screws I would recommend you take it to your local hardware store and ask them. Our local Ace Hardware here in Polson has four times the selection of screws/bolts/fasteners then Napa Auto Parts and I was able to find chrome or black for whatever I needed and virtually identical. Just an option. Good luck!

Thanks Kim. I judged the 348 Class at an FCA event yesterday and noticed that the seat trim screws are very similar. I'll try that and then my fall back was to actually use some spare ones from my 911SC interior, the size and finish seems to be identical. I like to go OEM whenever I can, but...

Good luck finding black trim washers at any price.
Good luck finding Chrome trim washers at a reasonable price.
Polished stainless steel are easy to get and look 95% the part (I have plenty to spare):

Ace is the place...They can all be made black correctly with gun blueing such as cold black or cold oxide. Poke 'em in cardboard and dust them with semigloss clear afterward and they will last forever.

Side by side comparison of the 328/911 trim screws. I believe the 911 screw/washer is available. Also, the 348 trim screw part # is 6431440; I think they're pretty close, and only about a buck each.

I've tried gun blueing. Black paint came out better.

The black screws are easily available from Ace Hardware, as Will stated, and also Sears. It is the washers that are hard to find. If you find a source for them, please do post, as I'd like to stock up.

I ended up having to paint the stainless ones black.

    Regards
    David

P.S. Did not realize that 328s have black trim screws/washers on the door cards where my 308 had (rusty) chrome. I guess that makes sense since they eliminated the chrome switches with the 328 as well.

    David,

Yes, I realize the washers are unobtanium. I found at least 3 or 4 911SC part #s that I think are very close, and should come in black. I'll check availability and report back. Trying to post that image but can't clear out my older attachments...

I bought the appropriate size stainless fasteners from fastenal, primed them, and sprayed in satin black. In fact, probably have a few extras if you need a few. PM me if interested.

Your first link is to the Newco site and they have some really nice hardware for our cars. Only problem with Newco is that the minimum sale is about 500$, so you will have to order quite a large amount of screws.....-:)

I have searched high and low to find both screws and cup washers for the Ferrari interior, but ended up with painted SS screws and painted chrome cup washers as others before me

    Regards Peter

Lots of these 'will work', but most are not exactly like the originals on our cars.

Today's 'finishing' , 'trim', or 'cup' washers (and all of the ones in the link cls posted) are shaped differently from the ones originally on my '88 328 GTS, at least. Those have a 'cup' shape, whichwould tend to cut into the leather, rather than to protect it, like a simple 'trumpet', or 'funnel' shape.

One other note: I don't consider a slotted screw to be an acceptable replacement for the phillips head screws, especially for upholstery applications. The idea is that the screwdriver should not slip out of the head, which could damage the soft upholstery.

Has anyone found the original style washers? Either in silver color, or black?

Although my affiliation with them is only as a delighted Customer, I use BelMetric regularly, and have had excellent service with them, for many fasteners in my Ferrari.

In fact, they have the best match I've found for the black trim screws in my '88 328 GTS; their escutcheon washers aren't even close as a match for the washers, though.

I love BelMetric for the variety of hardware they offer, even outside of screws, nuts, and bolts. For example, they have the rubber buffers we need for our FCars, and metric hose clamps, too.

I also like that they offer many stainless steel fasteners in bright and black, too. Every chance I get, I upgrade to stainless for whatever I'm replacing on my car.
