So out of all the cars I have.. somehow I managed to scrape the paint on the edge of the door of the cali.. possibly a slight touch of another car in the parking or whatever... has never happened to me on any other car...
Is the paint too "weak" on these cars?
Anyways... important thing is, how do i fix it... can the dealer do a touch up? is it really obvious when its had a touch up?

I suggest air freighting it back to Italy for a every panel to be resprayed :)

On a serous note, I'm not sure if there is a "touch up pen" available, and BMW at one time had something called "lack film" which was 2cm (1 inch) squares of paint to touch up stone chips

    Some one here will help

My car is a garage queen so it doesn't get chips :)

I think it is soft due to being water based. Had the same problem and dealer easily got it sorted by a specialist at low cost.

Are you sure it is truly scratch so that it needs paint?
Try to rub it off with some kind of paint cleaner/compound.

If it is truly scraped down to the bare metal, then get some touch up paint from a Ferrari body shop and buy a small fine art paint brush and do the touch up yourself.

Good point. Just remembered my Spider had what I thought were scuffs on the door edge. Turns out that along with the shocking paint job, they had left rubbing compound on the door edges. Well worth checking.

this happened on mine as well and is my fault since I park it too close to the wall of my garage to allow ample space for the other car that my wife drives :)

when I brought the car to the dealer for a different issue, they noticed it while doing a walk around. they touched it up and applied a thin strip of clear wrap material along the edges. I too was surprised the paint didn't hold up to minor bump against wall.

I had exactly that when I bought a 'perfect' Cali :(. Plus other paint defects as well. Ordered a touch-up kit from Dr. Colorchip. It was a perfect match ( www.drcolorchip.com ). And no, a defect on the edge of the door won't be noticeable at all once touched-up. It's not an obvious location. But of course it'd have helped if freaking Ferrari hadn't used a white primer on a dark blue car. Geez.

By the way, I ordered one 0.5oz paint bottle for every car, but only one 4oz of 'sealact'; a lot cheaper than several kits. Oh, and for the door edge, and other inconspicuous locations, I didn't even bother with the 'sealact', since it takes a bit of practice to smooth the 'blob' right. As always, their video seems to imply even a monkey can do it, but that's not the case :D. At least not without practice. Hope this helps folks.
