    You continue to miss the point, which is that a pedigree certificate is the only way a dog buyer can see the complete family tree of a prospective pet. If they choose to buy a mother-son pup, that's their lookout.

    Anecdotally, I can't think of a single BBC (or ABC) video which has not been a leftist polemic in support of animal activists.

    Looks a bit like a totally white Husky. Lovely. :)

    On the pedigree thing, I’m with Ian in as much as buying a pedigree allows you to see the full family history.
    If you then make a stupid decision that’s your fault.

    My previous Husky lasted 15 and a half years, and was very active right up until cancer got her. That is very long life for such a dog.
    She came from one of the best breeders in the country and I believe it made a difference. Same goes for the current one, Misha.
    Hopefully she lasts as long, but of course you never know.

    Having said that, there are some breeds that have been hurt by ridiculous breeding practices (for show) over the last 80 years or so. German Shepherds come immediately to mind. Take a look at what they originally looked like (beautiful, well proportioned dogs) yet now more often that not they have some rather strange short back leg thing going on that cannot be good for them.

    There are plenty of other examples.

    Pedigree papers show 4 generations; Aust kennel club recommend min 8-10 generations be considered to establish COI - how many purchasers look that far, or even know what they’re looking at? Curious how the RSPCA gets labelled as ‘leftist’ and as for the leader of the UK Kennel Club- well known lefty group for sure!
